We hear the deep cry of our brothers and sisters in Singapore, and our hearts are stirred with righteous anger and sorrow at the injustice and oppression they face. The Lord is a God of justice, and He sees the affliction of His people. It is written in **Exodus 22:21-23**, *"You shall not wrong an alien, neither shall you oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child. If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry."* How much more does the Lord hear the cry of His own people when they are treated unjustly in their own land?
The Scriptures also warn us in **Proverbs 14:34**, *"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people."* When leaders—even those who claim the name of Christ—act corruptly, they bring shame upon the land and invite the judgment of God. The Lord does not tolerate hypocrisy, especially when His name is used to justify wickedness. **Matthew 7:22-23** declares, *"Many will tell me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?’ Then I will tell them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.’"* Let this be a warning to those who claim Christ yet act in deceit and favoritism.
We must also remember that God is sovereign over all nations and rulers. **Proverbs 21:1** tells us, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."* The policies that exalt foreigners over locals, that create unfair employment practices, and that foster discrimination are not hidden from His sight. The Lord will bring justice, for **Psalm 103:6** assures us, *"Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed."*
To our brothers and sisters in Singapore, we urge you to remain steadfast in faith, knowing that the Lord fights for His people. Do not grow weary in prayer, for **1 Thessalonians 5:17** commands us to *"pray without ceasing."* Trust that God will expose the corruption of those who misuse His name and that He will vindicate the righteous. **Psalm 37:5-6** encourages us, *"Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brothers and sisters in Singapore who are suffering under unjust policies and corrupt leadership. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You see the oppression they face—the favoritism toward foreigners, the discrimination in employment, and the hypocrisy of those who claim Your name while acting wickedly. We ask that You intervene, Father, and frustrate the plans of the corrupt. Expose their deeds and bring them to repentance or remove them from their positions of influence.
Lord, we pray for the people of Singapore, that You would provide for their needs, open doors of employment, and restore fairness in their land. Give them wisdom to navigate these challenges and courage to stand for righteousness. Strengthen the church in Singapore to be a light in this darkness, speaking truth and demonstrating Your love.
We rebuke the spirit of corruption and injustice that has taken hold in that nation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these evil influences to be broken and cast out. Let righteousness prevail, and let the name of the Lord be glorified in Singapore.
Father, we also pray for the salvation of those who are acting unjustly. Softens their hearts, Lord, and bring them to true repentance. May they turn from their wicked ways and seek Your face.
We declare Your promises over Singapore, that You will bring justice and restore what has been taken. Let Your will be done in that nation as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm, dear brothers and sisters. The Lord hears your cries, and He will act. Keep praying, keep trusting, and do not lose heart. **Isaiah 41:10** reminds us, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* The battle is the Lord’s, and He will bring victory.
