"SIN"

"SIN"

A quote I once heard Ravi Zaccharias say was, Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.”

King David’s sin took him farther from God’s face than he ever imagined. The greatest pain of his life came during his separation from God’s hand of blessing and favor. He couldn’t bear the thought of losing his relationship with the One he loved the most. We can see this in the prayer David prayed after he had fallen into sin.

David prayed, Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (Psalm 51:1-3, 9-12).

When David came to his senses he cried out to God for forgiveness and God graciously forgave him; however that did not erase the consequences of his sins, for David paid dearly for those sins in his life and the lives of his family.

I'm sure if we knew the consequences of our sin before falling to temptation, how many of us would ever follow through with it? If only we could see beforehand the harm that our sins bring to ourselves and to others I'm sure we would not fall prey to them. Remember Peters admonition in (1 Peter 5:8) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: The goal of our enemy is to destroy us and those we love by setting snares for us which will cause us to fall .

If we desire to live for God and in the blessings of God, He commands us to seek Him and His purposes and plans. We need to look down the road and calculate the cost of our decisions. We must keep our eyes firmly fixed on His path and stay true to Him and conscientiously stay focused.

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, (Hebrews 12:1)

Yes, indeed. I have paid so much cost for my ignorant and improper attitudes as the daughter and servant of the King of kings.

Don, my dear brother and friend. I am reading this after you have gone to be with the Lord. The Word's that the Lord has spoken through you, a most faithful servant, will go on and help so many more. The Lord has brought you to be such a great blessing to so very many. I have been greatly blessed by your friendship and will never forget you. I love you brother and always will. One day I will join you before our Lord and we will worship, praise, and glorify Him together. Until that day brother, I give Him thanks for once having you here among us all.

Dear Don,

I am reading this after you have gone to be with the Lord. You were an inspiration to all of us on this site. You deserve to be at peace with our Father now.

Thank you for making a difference in my life and everyone on this site.

Enjoy the peace you so rightly deserve now.

May our Heavenly Father bless your beautiful wife and family with the Holy Spirits peace beyond all understanding. You have blessed me with so many daily devotions of our Heavenly Fathers word. I am going to miss these from you. I never got to meet you in person but I will look forward to meeting you in Heaven. Thank you for your constant reminders of our Heavenly Fathers Words of wisdom here in this life. I will be praying for your family with all my love in Yahshua HaMashiach amen.

Heavenly Father, I have just realized that Don has gone to be with you. Don has encouraged me so many times by sharing the bible and praying for me. I could always count on finding comfort in his words of wisdom. His presence in this ministry was a tremendous blessing. He truly shared the love of Christ in the love he had for others. I can only pray that you will enable us to continue in that love as he did. Enable us to always be ready to give an answer for the hope we have within us, and a word of encouragement to those we meet. Comfort Judy and all loved ones by Your Spirit bringing perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. We wait for the joyous day when we can be together standing in the light of Christ and singing praises forevermore. As our Pastor once said, Glory will find us! In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Thanks Don. A poignant post.

I felt filled with His love, reading this, and I feel compelled to read my Bible. Admittedly, something I haven't done recently. I remembered how once, quite some time ago, you kindly laughed off my foolishness when I ditzily thought that your profile picture was of Neil Diamond! (Um, try Jesus!) - I also remember how you taught me to go treasure hunting in my Bible.

I could really use some Godly wisdom right now Big brother, so I'm off on a treasure hunt.

With much love and gratitude,

Your little Sis.

Dear Father,

I feel so blessed with Your beloved son's encouraging messages. You have shown Your love through his life, and now he earned his reward to stay eternally with You. How lovely to think about living together with You. Please take us there also and please help us to live as an offering to You before our time's due. Please also bless Don's family with strength in following Your path Don's return to Your home. In Yeshua Hamashiach's Name I pray. Amen!

Dear my sister . i am going through my dearest bro blog again and again . i really missing.what an encouragement prayers and inspiration i got . ...... eagerly waiting and praying to meet .y bro at the beautiful shore.lord blessyou dear sister

I am reading this again after you have gone to be with the Lord. So much ministering here! I would be lost completely lost if not for His great grace and mercy! In reading the replies I am also further blessed and challenged as I see the discouragement from sin. Let us be convicted but let us not become discouraged.

I recall Spurgeon's account and exhortation to LOOK TO THE CROSS and be saved! There is no limit to the number of times we can look, and no matter how poor our condition let us call/ cry out in to Him in truth; He will hear....

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:6

I recall a quote as well ...If God were not merciful, He would not have a people to serve Him...and is this not true? Our GLORIOUS MERCIFUL GOD!

Yes our case or trials may seem peculiar-but our God UNDERSTANDS-FORGIVES-IS MERCIFUL

-Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28

-The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him. Daniel 9:9

-But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God. Neh 9:31

There is never a reason to throw in the towel (so to speak)! This idea (giving up) is a hook; baited and cast by the enemy.

God bless everyone here! Let us all fight the good fight and press on in the strength of Lord Jesus; for all the brothers and sisters that have gone on before us, and to be salt and light in a world that needs us.

I am so thankful to the Lord for the life of Brother Don and I still feel great encouragement in reading his writings.

I have fallen deep into sin. I feel so guilty and won’t to overcome my sin. I feel like I’ve messed up so much, God won’t forgive me. Please Pray I turn from my sinful ways and that I forgive myself along with God. In Jesus Name, Amen
