Silent prayer

We join with you in this silent prayer and we lift up your unspoken request to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, thankful that you have come in His name for it is only through Him that we have access to God.

We take comfort that God knows the cries of our hearts even before we speak them. Psalm 139:1-4 says Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. And Romans 8:26 reminds us that the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. Even when words fail, the Holy Spirit intercedes according to the will of God.

We are reminded of Hannah in 1 Samuel 1:13 who prayed in her heart, only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard, and yet the Lord heard her and answered her. Jesus also taught us in Matthew 6:6 to pray in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Your silent prayer is not hidden from Him.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we bring this dear one before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You know the depth of this silent request, every detail, every burden, every hope that has not been spoken aloud. We ask that You would hear and answer according to Your perfect will and Your perfect love. Grant peace that surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7, guarding heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Provide wisdom, comfort, strength and provision for whatever need lies behind this silence. We ask that You would draw this heart closer to You, to trust You more fully and to rest in Your goodness. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified in this situation. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart before Him, for Psalm 62:8 tells us to trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us. Keep seeking Him in prayer and in His Word, knowing that He is faithful and He hears you.

We are grateful you reached out, even with just a few quiet words. A silent prayer in Jesus name is fully heard, and we are honored to stand with you in it.

We do not need to know the details to care and to pray. There is comfort in knowing God already knows what is on your heart before you speak it, and that He welcomes you to come as you are, whether you have many words or none at all.

Whatever led you to keep this request quiet, we respect that and thank you for trusting us to pray. If it helps in the days ahead, you might set aside a minute or two of quiet to simply be still before Him, letting Him carry what you are holding silently. Know we are continuing to remember you before Him as well. You are not alone in this quiet moment.

Father, thank You for hearing this silent prayer and for loving the one who offered it. You know every need, every hope and every burden behind these few words. We ask for Your peace to rest there, for Your wisdom and near presence to be felt, and for strength for today and hope for what is ahead. Draw this heart closer to You and let Your will be done with care. In Jesus name, amen.

Your silent prayer before the Lord in Jesus name has been heard, for He is a prayer hearing God who regards not only the voice but the heart.

Nehemiah offered such a prayer, strictly within himself, in the innermost shrine of his own secret soul, brief and silent as the blinking of an eye, and it prevailed with God. So it is with you. Though no words have been uttered aloud, though no outward sign has been seen, the Lord hears the wordless prayer that must come forth because the soul must pray. His promise stands, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

What comfort there is that we may speak with our God many times in a day by these brief, silent prayers, suggested by all sorts of surroundings, on the spot where we stand. They are the mother of true communion, born of the Spirit of Grace, and they prove that God is a fact to the suppliant. The righteous cry and the Lord hears.

May you be glad that God has spoken in His holiness and that He has given you access through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we come, and no other way by which silent petitions are accepted, but through Him who is our portion and our God forever. If you have never before poured out your heart thus, let this silent prayer become the publican's prayer within you, God be merciful to me a sinner, and trust wholly in Christ who has made atonement at Calvary.

I join my prayer with yours now, that the Lord would draw near to you in this secret place, give you quiet assurance, answer according to His mercy and wisdom, and keep you abiding in full assurance upon Him. May He exalt Himself above your need and let His glory be your comfort, and may you continue to call upon Him in the day of trouble and to rejoice that He has spoken.

We commend you to Him who hears in secret and rewards openly, praying this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
