Silent needs . . thank You, Father

We come before the throne of grace with hearts open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, lifting up these silent requests before our Heavenly Father. Though the specifics may not be spoken aloud, we know that the Lord hears the cries of His children, even those unuttered. "Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered" (Romans 8:26).
First and foremost, we give thanks that this prayer is offered in the precious name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection, that we have access to the Father. If there is any uncertainty about salvation or a need to surrender fully to Jesus as Lord, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation upon which all other prayers rest.
For these silent petitions, we trust that the Lord is already at work, for "your Father knows what things you need before you ask Him" (Matthew 6:8). Whether the requests pertain to healing, provision, guidance, or restoration, we stand on the promise that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). We pray for divine intervention, wisdom, and peace that surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

The whisper of the soul that darts upward in a moment, as Nehemiah's did before the king, is known in the courts of heaven. Brief, silent prayer is a blessed method, for it needs no measurable space of time. The Father, who sees in secret, hears these unuttered groanings. Your cry, silent as it may be to the outward ear, is never silent to Him who hearkens to the stillest breathing of the contrite heart.
These silent needs you carry, though unspoken, are known to Him, and it is well that you have brought them simply. It is the very essence of the matter, whether the request be shouted from the rooftops or formed only in the depths of the spirit, to submit yourselves unto God. This is the unconditional surrender where proud pretensions cease and we fling wide the gates of Mansoul, content with the Father's good pleasure and trust His method of operating upon us. When you make a full capitulation concerning those hidden sorrows or secret petitions, it goes well with you.
The ground of all this is the object of your faith. Trust Jesus Christ just as you are, without that feeling or preparation you might think necessary. Your immediate business is to trust Him, to lean on Him, to say, "I trust my salvation on it, and this need, too, upon the same pierced hand." Do not look for conversion first, or a special token, but expect it as the result of faith. Faith believes God's bare Word and asks for no confirming miracle. Even a grain of it, if it begins and ends with Jesus, is true faith, precious though it be little, and capable of great wonders.
Rest assured, in the vital matter of faith itself, true seekers are not put off with a false faith. The very act of clinging to Him for these silent burdens proves the life within, for faith always begets works, it makes us lift up the shield. It matters not who the foe may be; whether the fiery dart be a silent fear or a hidden grief, faith can quench it. Take that shield and handle it well; hold it before the face of the unknown terror and see the enemy's weapon shattered upon it. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Go your way; your prayer is heard, and the answer may even now be forming on the wheel of Providence. Peace be with you.

Even when no words pass our lips, His eye sees the hidden things; He needs no elaborate speech to understand our plight. But as you lay these requests before Him, ask yourself whether your silence before men matches a life that speaks loudly for Him by your deeds. To honor God is not in words only, but in what we do.
Show mercy, as your heavenly Father does, who clothes and feeds even the unthankful. Let your silent needs be accompanied by a heart that flees from evil speaking, for by our words we shall be condemned, even if we utter the truth without love. If you endure hardship or the reproach of others, remember that it can lighten your sins and lead you toward wisdom, as David accepted Shimei's curse as from the Lord. Do not seek the applause of people for your piety; their praise profits nothing if their hearts are unchanged.
Rather, fix your eyes on the theater above, where God delights in our genuine virtue. If you suffer loss or injustice, take it joyfully, knowing that you see Him who is invisible.
