We hear your cry for help and stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting this heavy burden before the throne of grace. The pain of gossip, lies, and the fear of what may come is a weight no one should have to carry alone. We come together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach the Father, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
First, we rebuke the spirit of division, slander, and fear that seeks to disrupt your peace and harm your family. The Bible is clear that the tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), and those who spread gossip and lies are not walking in love or truth. We declare that the enemy’s plans will not prosper against you, for "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
Father God, we ask You to silence the one causing harm. Let their words fall to the ground unheard, and let their plans be thwarted before they take root. We pray that You would intervene in this situation, Lord, and bring it to nothing. If this person is operating in darkness, expose their actions to the light, that they may see the error of their ways and repent. If they refuse to turn from their sin, we ask that You remove them from our ###’s life completely, for Your Word tells us, "Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared" (Proverbs 22:24-25).
We also lift up the unspoken request weighing on your heart. Fear not, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Whatever it is that troubles you, we declare that it will not come to pass. We stand on the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We bind every spirit of worry, anxiety, and dread in the name of Jesus, and we release peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask that You would surround our ### and her family with Your hedge of protection. Let no harm come near them, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We pray for wisdom and discernment, that she would know how to navigate this situation with grace and strength. If there are steps she needs to take—whether it be setting boundaries, seeking godly counsel, or even confronting the issue in love—give her the courage to do so. Your Word tells us, "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother" (Matthew 18:15).
We also pray for healing in her heart. The wounds caused by gossip and lies can run deep, but You, Lord, are the God who heals (Exodus 15:26). Restore her joy, renew her strength, and fill her with Your peace. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Let her find her rest in You alone, knowing that You are fighting on her behalf.
Finally, we declare that this situation will turn for her good. Romans 8:28 reminds us that "we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Even in this trial, Lord, we trust that You are working something beautiful. May this season refine her faith, deepen her trust in You, and draw her family closer to You and to one another.
