Father, we thank You that even in events like these You are still Our Refuge, Strength, and Ever-Present Help in Times of Trouble, therefore we will not fear, though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, Ps 46:1-3. Protect the young, women, injured and elderly -- raise up laborers and send them out into this time when people need THE LOVE OF GOD, The Good News, miracles, resurrections, gifts of healing, salvation, wisdom, edification, comfort, gifts of mercy, faith and exhortation... Medical teams... Lead them NOT int temptation but DELIVER them from evil, Matt 6:13...

Prepare us all for storms of life, and even worse -- wars, famines, so we are not weakened or stumble in our faith but grow CLOSER to JESUS, are emboldened to pray, preach, heal the sick, cast out demons, prophesy of Christ's return, Rev 19:10... Lord prepare, provide for and send out laborers, Matt 9:35-36, 37-38, and help people get ready by hearing The Sermon on The Mount and PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE are like wise people who build their houses on The Rock so when rain and torrents rage and gush and blow we do not fall because we have a proper foundation, Matt 7:24-25, 1 Cor 3:11, because what Jesus says about enduring to the end to be saved IS A REAL WARNING and specifically in context to preaching the Gospel throughout the world as we've all been assigned, each to varying degrees, Matt 24:13-14, c.f. Matt 28:18-19, 20; Mark 16:15-17, Luke 24:46-67, John 20:21, Acts 1:8. Thank You in Jesus' Name, Phil 4:6-7.

We lift our eyes to the heavens, recognizing that the signs of the times are indeed unfolding before us as Scripture foretold. The celestial events you mention, eclipses, alignments, and meteor showers, serve as reminders that God set the stars in place as markers for seasons and appointed times (Genesis 1:14). The Magi, guided by prophecy and the heavens, sought the Messiah, yet many in Israel, though steeped in Scripture, missed the sign of His coming. This warns us to remain vigilant, not merely observing the signs but discerning their meaning through the lens of God’s Word.

The world grows increasingly turbulent, with nations rising against nations, wars escalating, and persecution of believers intensifying. Jesus Himself warned that these are the beginning of birth pains (Matthew 24:4-8). Yet even in chaos, we do not despair, for our hope is anchored in Christ. The same Jesus who spoke of tribulation also promised, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). We must prepare our hearts, not with fear, but with steadfast faith, girding our minds with the purpose of Christ (1 Peter 4:1-3) and building our lives on the unshakable foundation of His Word (Matthew 7:24-25).

The recent devastation you describe, a catastrophic event leaving hundreds dead, thousands injured, and entire communities shattered, is a sobering reminder of the fragility of life and the urgency of the Gospel. In such times, we cry out for God’s mercy and provision, praying for the protection of the vulnerable, the healing of the wounded, and the raising up of laborers to bring hope and salvation to the brokenhearted (Matthew 9:35-38). The love of God must be proclaimed with boldness, for it is the only balm capable of healing a world in despair.

We rebuke the spirit of complacency that lulls believers into passivity. The call to endure to the end is not a suggestion but a command (Matthew 24:13). This endurance is not passive suffering but active faithfulness, preaching the Gospel, healing the sick, casting out demons, and making disciples (Mark 16:15-18). The storms of life will come, but those who stand firm on Christ, the Rock, will not be moved (1 Corinthians 3:11).

We also address the temptation to seek an escape from tribulation rather than preparation for it. While we long for Christ’s return and the rapture of the Church, Scripture is clear that we must be ready to endure persecution and hardship as good soldiers of Christ (2 Timothy 2:3). Our safety lies not in avoidance but in abiding in Him, for He has promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts stirred by the signs of the times. You alone are our Refuge and Strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask for wisdom to discern the times and courage to stand firm in faith. Strengthen us to endure persecution, to love boldly, and to proclaim the Gospel without fear. Raise up laborers to bring Your light into the darkest places, and prepare the hearts of those who will hear.

Lord, we pray for the victims of recent disasters, comfort the grieving, heal the wounded, and provide for the displaced. Let Your love and power be manifest through miracles, resurrections, and acts of mercy. Protect those who go forth in Your name, delivering them from evil and filling them with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:6-7).

Father, we long for the return of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the only way to salvation (John 14:6). Help us to live each day in readiness, building our lives on the foundation of His Word and walking in obedience to His commands. May we be found faithful when He comes, whether by rapture or resurrection, for we know that every promise of God is fulfilled in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).

We’ve been sitting with your prayer, and we feel the weight of it, the celestial signs, the global tensions, the real-time tragedy you described with collapsed buildings and lives lost. That’s a lot to carry in one heart. We’re grateful you brought it all to the Father, and we join you in simply trusting that He knows the times and holds every victim and every laborer in His hands.

When the world feels this unsettled, it can be easy to let the vastness of it all overwhelm us. But we notice that tucked inside your sweeping prayer were very concrete cries: protection for the young, the injured, and the elderly, and more laborers sent into the wreckage. That tells us your heart isn’t just watching for shifts, it’s aching for people. So maybe the most grounding thing right now is to let that ache pull you toward something nearby and doable. Gathering with others in your local church to pray specifically for those impacted by the earthquake, or reaching out to a trusted friend who also feels the heaviness, can turn what feels like anxious watching into shared burden-bearing. You don’t have to figure out the whole world’s trouble to love well today.

We also hear your deep desire to be rooted, not swept away. We think of how Jesus, in the very passage you referenced about the wise builder, didn’t just call us to brace for the storm, He called us to put His words into practice in ordinary obedience. That’s often far quieter than watching the skies, but it’s where our houses actually get anchored.

Father, for our friend who sees the groaning of the world and longs to be steadfast, we ask for the steadying gift of Your peace that really does pass our understanding. For the devastated region, we ask You to make a way for rescue teams, medical workers, and comforters, and to shelter those still trapped and grieving. Give our friend moments of genuine rest and the quiet reassurance that You hold both the stars and the crushed concrete in Your sight. Hold them close to Jesus, the only unshakable foundation. Amen.

The soul that fixes its gaze upon the heavens does well to remember that the same God who set the stars for signs and seasons has also set His King upon the holy hill of Zion. Eclipses and alignments may speak of order and of passing shadows, but the true and faithful Witness is Jesus Christ, whose testimony is uniform and whose word is settled forever. Let not your heart be troubled by the noise of wars and the shaking of nations; these things must be, but the end is not yet. The way of wisdom is not discovered by the sharp-eyed observer of celestial portents, but by the lowly heart that fears the Lord and departs from evil.

You have prayed for wisdom and understanding, and this is well. Yet remember, the greatest boldness at the throne of grace is perfectly consistent with the lowest self-humiliation. Come boldly, for He has invited you, and His mercy compasses you about. The throne is not one of judgment for those who are in Christ Jesus, but of grace to help in time of need. There, lay hold of the peace that passes comprehension, not as a feeling dependent on the quiet of the world, but as the deep, abiding calm of a soul anchored within the veil.

You speak of a shift, of buckling seatbelts and preparing to endure. Endure you must, but not in the strength of grim resolve alone. We are laborers together with God. Plant and water with weeping, but know that He gives the increase, though we know not how. Do not waste your hours calculating the day of His appearing; it is enough to stand ready. He who is faithful will not fall away when the multiplied wickedness of the age makes the love of many grow cold. The one who perseveres to the end will be saved. Perseverance is not a passive waiting while staring at the sky, but a love that bears all things for the conversion of the unconverted, a faith that works by love, and a hope that purifies itself even as He is pure.

See the massive tragedy you have listed, buildings collapsed, children perished. This is the very groaning of creation under the burden of sin. And in the face of such sorrow, the cross of Christ is the mirror and paragon of persevering endurance. Look there! He endured the contradiction of sinners against Himself, and He is our pattern. Let your intercessions rise for the wounded and the missing, for the medical teams and the laborers sent forth. Ask the Lord of the harvest to thrust them out, not only with bandages and medicines, but with the gospel of the kingdom, the only healing for the root of all woe. For this gospel must be preached in all the world as a testimony, and then the end shall come.

As for the bear in the north and the heavy stone in Israel, fret not yourself because of evil men. The mightiest lion knows not the way of wisdom; the princes of this world, in their pomp, come to nothing. The way of God remains untrodden by the natural eye; it is a path the vulture’s eye has not seen. Rather, look well to your own heart, that you be a partaking witness of the sufferings of Christ, and thus also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed. Join the two together, for if you witness without partaking, you only witness to your own condemnation. But if trial comes, and it will, whether fire or water, you shall not be overwhelmed. For He is Infinite in wisdom, and His goodness goes before you. Have you not known how often a season of quiet joy has been sent to prepare you for an unexpected trouble? Even so, these smaller perturbations of our spirits may be the preparatory touches of a gracious hand, making you ready to stand in the evil day.

Look to the testimony of Christ, not to the shifting patterns of the firmament. Christ is the faithful Witness, the Amen. His testimony was uniform, and His word is yea and amen. Let your faith rest on that, and let your speech and life confirm the witness. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; shout for joy, all you that are upright in heart. For the Lord does not call us to a spirit of fear, but to a sound mind, girt about with the purpose of Christ, to cease from sin, to live not for the lusts of men but for the will of God. Arm yourself with that great thought, for he who has suffered in the flesh has done with sin.

Therefore, keep your lamps trimmed and your loins girded, but let it be done with joy. The night is far spent, the day is at hand, whether we see it break in our own lifetime or greet it from the skies. Lean hard upon the throne of grace, work on as a humble laborer in God’s field, and let the deep peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. He who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

The heavens are not given to us so that we may become astrologers, but so that we may fear and worship the Creator. The stars were set for signs and seasons, and the Magi were right to search the skies because they were also seeking the King. Yet notice what Scripture says: when Herod asked the scribes where the Christ was to be born, they could answer from the prophet at once, but they did not go to Bethlehem. They knew the text and missed the sign. Therefore do not let this eclipse and alignment make you merely curious about a date. Let it make you ask whether you would have left everything, as the Magi did, to bow before Christ. The wise men did not stand outside calculating the star; they traveled, they worshiped, they opened their treasures, and they obeyed the warning not to return to Herod. That is the true use of signs: they lead to worship and obedience.

Your forty days before Yom Kippur may be used for self-examination. That is good, for a Christian ought to examine himself every day, not by countdowns but by repentance. But do not put your trust in a calendar. The end is not for you to know by an eclipse, a planetary alignment, or a meteor shower. Christ said you will hear of wars and rumors of wars, and you must not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is not yet. Nation will rise against nation, and there will be famines and earthquakes. These are the beginning of birth pains, not a signal to set a date. The mother in labor does not know the hour; she knows the child is coming, and therefore she prepares with endurance.

What then shall we do? You have already prayed the right prayer: not for escape, but for endurance. The Christian life has always been full of trials. Joseph was told to flee into Egypt, and the time of return was left indefinite: "Be thou there until I tell thee." He did not ask why the promised Savior could not save Himself; he did not calculate the years; he obeyed and endured the trials with joy. That is our pattern. We are not to stand around watching the sky with our mouths open. We are to gird up the loins of our mind, as you said, and arm ourselves with the same purpose as Christ. If He suffered in the flesh, we who are His soldiers must be ready to pour out our own blood for His sake, not with reluctance, but as one would pour out water.

I do not say this to diminish the present dangers. A heavy stone lies on the nations. Wars are real. A hostile power flexes its muscles. Buildings fall, hospitals collapse, the young and old are crushed, and thousands are missing. These are not mere abstractions. The Church must weep with those who weep and hold out a hand to those in trial. If you see your brother in trial, stand by him. If you see your teacher in conflict, strengthen him. Pray for medical teams, for rescuers, for laborers. The Lord Himself said the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. So pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers. Pray that His people would be found doing good, healing the sick, casting out demons, and speaking the testimony of Jesus, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

But let no one think that seeing a sign is the same as being ready. The scribes saw the Scriptures and missed the Sign because their hearts were far from God. The Magi saw the star because they were seeking the King. If you want to be ready for a shift, let the shift begin in your own soul. Turn from the love of the world, from being bound to riches and houses and affections, for the soldier of Christ must be detached from all things. Do not be curious about a rapture or a secret escape. Christ tells us plainly that the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. The gospel will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Our part is not to know the day, but to be faithful in the day we have been given.

The apostle Paul counted the salvation of his neighbors as his own life. He said, "Now we live if you stand fast in the Lord." He was not seeking to be snatched away while others perished. He was willing to be poured out as a drink offering. So must we be. The greater the intensity of persecution, the greater should be your good hope, because the more abundant also is your salvation and consolation. God gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace. Let that hope firm you. When your mind is shaken, you can do no good and noble action. But when you are established in Christ, you can bear all things with longsuffering. He who said, "My grace is sufficient for you," did not say the trial would vanish, but that His grace would carry you through it.

Therefore I say to you: be watchful, but do not be feverish. Let the eclipse pass, and let it speak to your heart that the Day of the Lord is sure. Let the planets align, and let them remind you that every power in heaven and earth is under Christ's feet. Let the meteor shower remind you that the present world is passing away, and that you must lay up treasure in heaven. But do not set your hope in these calculations. Set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. You are not called to know times and seasons, but to be a faithful witness. Pray for wisdom and understanding, yes, but then rise from your knees and do the work of the gospel. Stand fast. Hold out a hand. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Endure. In this way, whether the end comes tomorrow or after many long years, you will be found building on the rock and not on sand.

May the Lord establish your hearts in every good work and word, and may the peace that passes all comprehension guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Amen.
