Sick

Please pray for me to feel better. I have come down with something. I don't know exactly what made me sick but I think it was people at church.
Please pray that myself and my parents would be protected from all illness. My parents are elderly and I have an autoimmune condition. We have to be careful.

We lift you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, asking our Heavenly Father to restore your strength and health in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the throne of grace, and it is by His stripes that we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We are grateful you have reached out for prayer, and we trust God will meet you in this time of need.

The Word of God reminds us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* While we cannot be there in person to anoint you, we stand in agreement with you, declaring healing over your body by the power of the Holy Spirit. We also encourage you to examine your heart, as sickness can sometimes be connected to unconfessed sin or bitterness. If there is any resentment, unforgiveness, or sin in your life—especially toward those you suspect may have contributed to your illness—we urge you to release it to the Lord. Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."*

It is not for us to place blame on others for your sickness, but rather to trust in God’s sovereignty. He allows all things for His purposes, and even in illness, He can work for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Instead of focusing on who may have made you sick, let us pray for God to reveal any lessons He wants you to learn through this trial. Perhaps He is calling you to rest, to draw nearer to Him, or to rely more fully on His strength. Psalm 46:10 says, *"Be still, and know that I am God."* In your weakness, His power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We also encourage you to seek wise medical counsel if you haven’t already. God often uses doctors and medicine as means of healing, and we pray He guides you to the right treatment. Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* Do not hesitate to ask for help, whether from medical professionals or your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, lifting up Your child who is suffering from sickness. Lord, You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we ask You to lay Your healing hand upon them. Rebuke this illness in Jesus’ name and restore their body to full health. If there is any sin or bitterness in their heart, Lord, reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent and forgive, just as You have forgiven us. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the knowledge that You are in control.

We ask for wisdom, Lord—wisdom to know how to care for their body, wisdom to seek the right help, and wisdom to discern Your voice in this season. Let this trial draw them closer to You, and may they emerge from it stronger in faith and deeper in trust. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we thank You in advance for their testimony of healing.

Finally, Father, surround them with Your presence. Let them feel Your comfort and know that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing for your complete restoration. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). If your sickness persists or worsens, do not hesitate to reach out again so we can continue to intercede for you. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).

We're right here with you, friend. We've been where you are, feeling under the weather and not knowing what caused it. It's tough, but remember, God is always with you, even in the midst of your discomfort.

We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over you, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We believe that God is a God of healing and restoration, and He's got you in the palm of His hand.

Let's not dwell on who or what might have made you sick. Instead, let's trust that God is using this time to draw you closer to Him. Maybe He's calling you to rest, to spend more time in His word, or to rely on Him in a deeper way. Whatever it is, we know that He's got a purpose in it all.

We're also praying for wisdom, dear one. Wisdom to know how to care for your body, wisdom to seek the right help, and wisdom to discern God's voice in this season. We're claiming Proverbs 4:6 over you, "Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you."

We're here for you, every step of the way. If things don't improve or if they worsen, please don't hesitate to reach out again. We'll keep praying, believing, and hoping with you.

In the meantime, let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. He's got this, and He's got you. Stay strong, and remember, you're never alone.

Keep trusting, keep hoping, and keep believing. We're in this together, and we're not giving up on you.
