We are joining with you in prayer for your spouse and for you as you walk through this difficult season together. We thank God for your marriage and for your faith in bringing this need before Him in the name of Jesus, for it is through His name we have access to the Father and it is by His stripes we are healed.
We know how wearying and discouraging it can be when surgeries and treatments do not bring the relief you had hoped for, especially with such serious procedures as a colon resection and removals of the appendix and gall bladder. Yet we serve a God who is our healer and who sees every detail of our bodies that He so fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us to praise Yahweh, who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases. And He promises in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. He also tenderly binds up the brokenhearted and heals our wounds as Psalm 147:3 tells us.
We encourage you to continue to seek wise medical care while also trusting the Lord as the ultimate physician, for every good gift and every perfect gift is from above. Do not lose heart, for God is with you both. Isaiah 41:10 says, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And James 5:15 assures us, The prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for the love You have shown us and for the covenant of marriage You have ordained. We ask for Your merciful hand upon this dear spouse who is suffering with severe digestive issues. You know every surgery, every pain, every sleepless night and every concern. We ask You to bring healing where man has done all that can be done. Touch the digestive system, calm inflammation, restore proper function, and ease pain and discomfort. Grant wisdom and discernment to the doctors and caregivers, and guide them to the right treatments. Strengthen faith and give peace that surpasses all understanding to both husband and wife as they wait on You. Help them to rest in Your love and to trust in Your perfect will, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You as Romans 8:28 teaches. We ask for restored health and strength, for comfort and hope, and for Your presence to be felt in their home each day. In the name of Jesus our Savior and Healer we pray, amen.

Thank you for letting us pray for you both. Watching someone you love go through a colon resection, appendix and gall bladder removals, and still struggle with severe digestive issues is exhausting and heartbreaking. We are holding you and your spouse before the Lord.
When an illness lingers like this, it can feel discouraging day to day. Progress is often slow and uneven, and it is hard to notice small improvements when discomfort is constant. It also takes a toll on the whole family, sleep, work, and daily routines get disrupted, and the worry does not let up. If you are feeling worn down as a caregiver, that is understandable. Please know your faithfulness in staying by your spouse matters deeply.
Alongside prayer, we encourage you to stay closely connected to your spouse's medical team and keep them updated on any changes or concerns. It can help to bring a short written note of symptoms and questions to each appointment so nothing gets missed in the moment. And make sure you have support around you as well, whether family, friends, or your church, so you are not carrying this alone.
Father, we lift this dear spouse to You and ask for Your mercy and presence in this long season of illness. Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses caring for them, give comfort in pain, and give strength and peace to both husband and wife each day. Sustain them with Your nearness and hope. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your petition has been heard with deep sympathy and we have carried it before the throne of grace on behalf of your beloved spouse.
To see one so dear to you suffer in body, and to see that suffering continue after so much has been endured, the resection of the colon and the removal of the appendix and gall bladder, and yet no relief appearing, is a heavy trial indeed. The Lord knows the weariness of prolonged affliction and He marks every pain. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber, and it is right and good that you should seek the Great Physician who alone healeth all our diseases.
We are reminded that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture speaks of the tree of life whose leaves were for the healing of the nations, and we are taught that the least thing about Christ is healing virtue, that even to touch the hem of His garment by faith is to find grace. When Jesus walked among men, healing power was present when He taught, and faith came by hearing the Word, and many sick folk were made whole. So we look not to any king Jareb nor to any mere human help alone, but to the hand that wounded and alone can heal, even the hand of God through the person of Jesus Christ our Lord. With Him is the Sun of Righteousness who rises with healing in His wings, and He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, our Father in heaven, we bow before Thee in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone we have access unto Thy mercy. Thou art the God who forgives iniquity and who heals our sicknesses, and we bless Thee that pardon and healing are joined together in Thy Son. Look in tender compassion upon this suffering one, Thy servant afflicted in body with severe distress of the bowels and inward parts. Thou hast seen the knife of the surgeon and the pain that has followed, and Thou knowest how things have not yet mended. Lay Thy hand upon this dear sufferer. If it be Thy will, command health to return, restore strength to the weakened frame, and cause the afflicted organs to perform their work again. Give wisdom to those who provide care, and give patience and comfort to both husband and wife in this long trial. Above all, let this affliction draw the heart nearer to Christ, that whether Thou dost raise up or whether Thou dost keep in the furnace, Thy name may be glorified and Thy love more clearly seen. We ask not as we will, but as Thou wilt, and we put this cup to our lips trusting that Thou sendest healing medicine and not poison. Hear us for Jesus sake, whose stripes are our healing. Amen.
Take comfort that you are not forgotten. Tell Him how sick and how weary your spouse is, for His ears hear the whisper of the soul and His heart notes every sigh. Continue to wait upon Him in prayer and in the hearing of His Word, in constant submission to His divine will, which is the very atmosphere in which the Christian lives. Whether He brings immediate relief or sustains through a longer path, He will not despise the prayer of the afflicted, and He who has loved His own with a peculiar and abiding love will keep you both in His tender care until that day when the inhabitant shall no more say, I am sick, for the people that dwell with Him shall be forgiven their iniquity and made whole forever.
