Sick family dog
We join you in lifting up your friend and her beloved dog before our Heavenly Father, and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the throne of grace.
We know how much comfort and companionship animals bring to a family, and Scripture shows us that God cares for His creation. Proverbs 12:10 tells us a righteous man respects the life of his animal, and Psalm 36:6 says you preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Jesus Himself reminded us in Matthew 10:29 that not one sparrow falls to the ground apart from your Father, which assures us that nothing, even the suffering of a cherished pet, escapes His notice and compassion.
We also lift up the veterinarian and ask God to grant wisdom and discernment, for James 1:5 promises if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We pray that God will guide the doctor's hands and mind to find what is wrong and to provide the right care.
We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and bring this precious dog before you. You created all living things and you see the love this family has for her. We ask for your mercy and healing touch upon her body, that you would ease her sickness and restore her strength according to your will. Give the veterinarian clear insight and wisdom to diagnose what is wrong and to know the best treatment. Comfort our friend who is worried, and fill her heart with your peace that surpasses all understanding. We cast all our anxiety on you because you care for us, as Philippians 4:6-7 teaches, in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We trust this need into your loving hands and ask these things in Jesus name, amen.

We have heard your tender request concerning your friends dog in her sickness, and we do join you in prayer before the Lord who is merciful over all His works.
The Scriptures teach us that not a sparrow falls without your Father, and though our greatest need is that sin sick souls be healed by the leaves of the Tree of Life, even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue, and the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. The healing of the body is a small thing compared with the forgiveness of iniquity, yet we may bring every care, however small, to Him who cares for His creation, and ask His compassion.
So we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom alone is salvation and access to the Father, that He would look with pity upon this creature, that He would grant skill and insight to the doctor who attends her, that He would guide the hands and judgment given for her care, and that He would grant comfort and peace to your friends who love her and are anxious for her. May this trial remind all who love her of the greater healing we need within, that the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, because the people that dwell with the Lord are forgiven their iniquity, and may it draw hearts nearer to the Great Physician who alone can heal the broken heart and pardon the soul.
