I humbly ask for your prayers for my cat, ###, who has been recently diagnosed with FLUTD and liver damage. I am praying that he makes a full and speedy recovery. I am asking for your prayers to help him get well.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up and asking for His healing touch. The Bible tells us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Though this verse speaks of human hearts, we know that God’s care extends to all His creation, and we trust in His mercy for as well.

Father God, we ask You to lay Your healing hand upon . Ease his pain, restore his health, and strengthen his body. Guide the hands of those who are caring for him, giving them wisdom and compassion. We know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We pray for a full and speedy recovery, that may once again bring joy and comfort to his home.

We also ask for peace and strength for you, his caretaker. Caring for a sick pet can be emotionally and physically draining, and we pray that God would sustain you with His grace. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Lean on Him in this time, trusting that He will provide the endurance and hope you need.

Let us also remember that our hope is in the Lord, who is the source of all healing and comfort. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we encourage you to consider the words of John 14:6, where Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only through Jesus that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and it is through Him that we find true peace, healing, and eternal life.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

While we trust God cares deeply about all His creation, we also know He has given us wisdom through good veterinary care. It sounds like you’ve already gotten a diagnosis, so the best thing you can do right now is stay in close touch with your vet and follow their guidance through this. As you do, just being present with, speaking gently, stroking him, keeping his environment calm, can be a real comfort to both of you. We’ve seen how much animals pick up on our steadiness, and your presence matters.

We’re asking God to bring healing to ’s body, to ease any pain or distress, and to guide the hands and minds of everyone helping him. We’re also praying for you as you walk through these uncertain days, that you’ll know you’re not carrying this alone.

Father, we lift up to You right now. You know every detail of his illness, and You see the love his owner has for him. Please bring restoration where, medically, that seems distant. Give the veterinary team clear insight and steady hands. And in the meantime, wrap this household in Your peace, the kind that stands guard when anxious thoughts crowd in. We ask for a full recovery if that is Your will, and we trust into Your care. In Jesus’ name, amen.

O how the lesser griefs drive us to the greater Healer! It is well that you bring your poor creature before the throne of grace, for though a cat be but a small part of creation, yet every groaning thing shares in the sorrow that sin has brought upon this world. The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint, not only in man but in all the works of God’s hand under the curse, until the day when the creature itself also shall be delivered. Yet even now, the leaves of the Tree are for the healing of all that is broken, ay, the very least leaf touched by faith avails much. Bring your pet’s suffering to the Savior who sees the sparrow fall, and cast this care upon Him who ordereth all things wisely.

Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, and this trial may be sent to draw your own soul nearer to the healing vine. When we are brought low, whether by a stricken body or a stricken creature we love, it is that we might look upward and see the hand from whence all sickness comes and whither all relief must flee. You do well to pray for his recovery, and we will join our prayers with yours, yet let the submission of the sick chamber be yours also: "Not as I will, but as Thou wilt." If the creature be restored, give Him the praise; if taken, give Him the trust, for He doeth all things well.

Remember, the same Jesus who said, "Arise and walk," to the sick of the palsy, and who touched Peter’s wife’s mother and the fever left her, has power over every malady. No disease is beyond His range; not one sigh of His children over their cares escapes His ear. Yet there is a deeper healing than that of the body, even the forgiveness of sin, and that He gives freely to all who seek it. Let this anxiety drive you not to despair but to the feet of the Physician, for He hath said, "He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Pray for the beast, but seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added. God bless you in your waiting, and may the Sun of Righteousness arise upon you with healing in His wings. Amen.

I hear your plea for your suffering cat, and I will join my prayers to yours, entreating the Lord of all creation, who cares even for the sparrows, to restore this creature to health if it be His will. But let us not only ask for healing; let us also learn from the sickness of a dumb animal. For even as a physician applies remedies, so our Lord uses trials of body and circumstance to drive us to seek Him more earnestly. The cat’s liver damage and urinary disease are a small mirror of our own mortal frailty: we are all perishing in soul unless the Great Physician intervene. And just as you would not neglect medicine for your pet, so you must not neglect the soul’s medicine, which is repentance, prayer, and the sacraments of the Church.

Yet a word of caution: do not be tempted to seek out amulets, charms, or any superstitious practices, even if they be presented under a Christian guise, as if such things could command healing. That is idolatry, and a snare of the enemy. Whether the old woman claims to call upon God or not, any object worn or ritual performed outside the Church’s proper blessings is a denial of the Cross. Sign your cat with the Cross, pray with faith, and use the medicines given by your veterinarian; these are lawful. If God grants recovery, give thanks. If He does not, bear the loss as one who trusts that even the smallest deaths can train our hearts for heaven. Many have gained more spiritual fruit from a single loss nobly endured than from ten miracles. Do not despair if the illness lingers; sometimes the Physician tarries that the wound may be cleansed more fully.

I will remember your cat at the holy altar, and I urge you to remain steadfast in prayer, not only for the animal’s body but for your own soul and those of your household. The same Lord who healed the centurion’s servant with a word can touch any creature; but let your first care be to prepare your heart to receive whatever He sends, for that is the truest healing.
