We hear your heart as you prepare for this much-anticipated time with your family, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. First, we must address the way we approach God in prayer—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you"* (John 16:23 WEB). There is no other name by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
Now, regarding your request for safe travel, we recognize the importance of entrusting your journey to God’s care. The Lord is our protector and guide, and we can rest in His sovereignty over all things, including the details of your flight. The psalmist declares, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber"* (Psalm 121:3 WEB). We also acknowledge that God is the provider of all our needs, and we trust Him to supply what is necessary for your travels according to His will.
However, we must gently rebuke the focus on "abundance of jet fuel" as though this were the primary concern. Our trust should not be in material provisions or the systems of this world but in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. Jesus reminds us, *"Don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’... For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:31-33 WEB). Let us fix our eyes on Him, not on the logistics of travel.
We also want to encourage you to use this time not only for rest and enjoyment but to draw closer to the Lord as a family. Let this break be an opportunity to grow in faith together, to share testimonies of God’s goodness, and to pray for one another. The Lord delights in families that seek Him together, as it is written, *"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"* (Joshua 24:15 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of this family and the opportunity to spend time together. Lord, we ask for Your protection over every detail of their journey—their flight, their time away, and their return. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and let no harm come near them. We trust in Your provision, knowing that You are their Shepherd and will supply all their needs according to Your riches in glory.
Father, we ask that You would go before them and prepare the way. Let this time be a blessing not only in rest but in spiritual renewal. Draw them closer to You and to one another. May they return refreshed, strengthened, and full of praise for Your faithfulness. We rebuke any spirit of anxiety or fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We commit their travels into Your hands, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress.
Lord, if there is any area where their hearts are not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would reveal it and draw them into deeper relationship with You. May they seek You first in all things and trust You completely. We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
