Dear Lord Jesus, There are so many things I wanna have to share with my friends at church, friendly conversations with certain people for good laughs, morality and ways to help them understand who the right leaders are cause lots of them are also misguided in politics. One of them even said he wanted to throw a torch at the White House And doesn’t like his parents just because they’re on the opposite political side he even calls young Earth creationist, which I am narrow-minded. I would like to also teach them the meaning of what it’s like to have what I have called AudHD. I would especially like to converse more with somebody who works with those kind of people and somebody there does a few people do actually. I wanna also tell them why I don’t like necessarily working at the zoo or talking about it due to the abuse that I’ve suffered at previous Zoo and the son how it negatively affects me. It makes me itch. It hurts my head. It makes me tired. puts me in a nut, so good mood highly emotional, either crying or cranky. And stop me from doing things I wanna do this whole summer. I’ve had to be outside touring people of animals and it was not a picnic but people just asked me how a zoo you working at the zoo do you like the zoo and it drives me mad I have been telling people I don’t like to talk about it, and I gave them reasons, but please let people be more aware and understand that I have heliophobia fear of the sun. I have also been out and really high temperatures so high that they’ve had to close several times. I would like to kind of express more my love of puppets, even though my parents don’t like me doing that so it will be obsessed. I won’t be obsessive. I put that on limits.. So please let me be able to share more and maybe someday even speak up at the church Let me say more prayers. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in bringing this before the Lord Jesus and we hear your heart to share more openly with your friends at church, to have friendly conversations, to laugh together, and to help others understand truth and morality including in the area of politics and leadership.

We understand your burden when you see friends misguided politically and we share your concern about the friend who spoke of throwing a torch at the White House and who dishonors his parents because they hold opposite political views and who calls your belief in young Earth creation narrow minded. Scripture is clear that we are to honor our father and mother, as it is written Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother, and Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Even when we disagree politically we are not to repay with hatred or dishonor. We are also taught Romans 13:1 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Romans 13:2 Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God. To speak of violence against our leaders or the White House is wrong and must be rebuked, and we encourage you to gently urge your friend away from such violent talk and toward respect and prayer for leaders, as we are instructed 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, 1 Timothy 2:2 for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. We also remember Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice, when the wicked rule, the people groan, and Exodus 18:21 speaks of choosing able men who fear God, men of truth who hate dishonest gain to be leaders. We can help friends evaluate leaders by biblical morality, truthfulness, reverence for God and love for justice, but we must do it with gentleness and not quarreling, for 2 Timothy 2:24 The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, and Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. We also encourage you when you are called narrow minded for believing God's account of creation, remember Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and James 1:19 let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. You can share your faith in creation with humility and kindness trusting the Holy Spirit to open understanding.

We also hear your desire to help others understand what you call AudHD and how God has made you wonderfully unique. We praise God that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, Psalm 139:14 I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and we pray that the Lord gives you words to explain your experiences with clarity and patience, and that He brings alongside you someone at church who works with people with similar needs who can be a wise counselor and friend, for Galatians 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Use that understanding not to label yourself in a limiting way but to steward the gifts God has given you.

We lift up your suffering around working at the zoo, the past abuse you endured there, and the very real physical and emotional toll you described, the itching, headaches, exhaustion, emotional highs and lows, crying or crankiness, and feeling unable to do what you want to do. We also hear your struggle with heliophobia and fear of the sun and the hardship of working outside touring people in extreme heat when temperatures were so high places had to close. The Lord sees your affliction and He invites you to rest, Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. We pray for wisdom for you and your family about work boundaries and whether this work is healthy for you, and we encourage you to honor your body as the temple of the Holy Spirit and to communicate your limits with kindness and firmness, for Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. It is right to tell people kindly that you do not wish to talk about the zoo and to ask for understanding, and we pray others will listen with compassion rather than pressing you. For your fear we pray the comfort of 2 Timothy 1:7 For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, and Isaiah 41:10 Don't you be afraid, for I am with you, don't be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you.

We also hear your love of puppets and your parents concern that you not become obsessive, and we are encouraged that you have put limits on it yourself. That shows maturity and self control, which is fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:23. We encourage you to continue to honor your parents in this, Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord, while also stewarding the creative gift God has given you, 1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in various forms. Puppets can be a joyful way to encourage children and share truth at church when used in order and balance.

We rejoice in your desire to share more and even to speak up and pray aloud at church. We pray the Lord will open that door in His timing and that you will speak with grace and order, 1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order, and that you will continue in prayer, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing, and James 5:16 The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, thanking You for this dear one who longs for deeper fellowship and to be a light among friends. Lord, give wisdom and gentle words to share truth about morality and leadership without strife, and turn the heart of the friend who spoke of violence and who dishonors his parents, bring repentance and respect and healing in that family. Comfort and strengthen our friend who is weary from heat and sun and from painful memories at the zoo, heal the body and mind, calm the fear, and provide wise counsel and boundaries and perhaps new opportunities for work that honors health. Help others at church to understand AudHD and heliophobia with compassion and to listen well. Bless the gift of puppets and help it be used for Your glory within healthy limits and in honor to parents. Lord, give boldness yet humility to speak and pray among the fellowship, and let all conversations be full of grace and truth. We ask for peace that surpasses understanding, Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, and for joy in fellowship. We are grateful you shared this with us. We hear how much you want real friendship at church, easy conversation, good laughs, and the chance to be known for who you are, including what living with AudHD is like for you and your love for puppets.

It makes sense that some of the conversations there feel discouraging, especially when politics comes up strongly or when you feel dismissed for your beliefs about creation. And it is understandable you would want to step back from talking about the zoo after a hard experience there, especially with the itching, headaches, fatigue and strong emotions you described from being out in the sun and heat all summer. You have already been clear with people that you prefer not to discuss it, and it is frustrating when they keep asking.

One thing that helps in a caring church community is having clear, kind boundaries. A boundary is simply like a property line that lets us stay connected to others while still taking responsibility for our own health, energy and peace. It is okay to let your yes be yes and your no be no in a gentle way. Having a short, practiced answer can protect that space, like, “I had a tough time working outside in the heat, so I don’t talk much about the zoo, but I would love to talk about puppets or AudHD instead.”

Friendships also tend to grow through small, gradual sharing with one or two people rather than the whole group at once. Since you mentioned there is someone at church who works with people with AudHD, a next step could be asking a pastor or leader if they would introduce you for a brief five minute chat after service.

You mentioned physical reactions to the sun and heat, so we also encourage you to let a medical professional know about those symptoms alongside prayer, if you have not already.

Father, thank You for this brother in Christ and his desire to share and belong. Give him wisdom, rest, and gentle opportunities to be heard and understood at church. Guide his conversations, guard his health, and help him know he is valued in Your family. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and there is a gracious desire in it which the Lord himself has planted, the desire for true fellowship in the house of God. You long not merely to be among the people of God but to have converse with them, to share your burdens and your joys, and to be understood. This is no small thing, for our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ, and that fellowship is shown among the saints in concord of heart carried out in converse and mutual communication. There are degrees of this fellowship. The first is the fellowship of communion, when we come to our Savior and hold fellowship of conversation with Him, and then with one another. The second is the fellowship of sympathy, a fellow feeling with Christ and with His people. The third is the fellowship of unity, and the last is the fellowship of Heaven itself, where all misunderstandings shall be healed.

You speak of many things that weigh upon you, and it is right to bring them before the Lord and before wise and loving brethren in due season. You have known distress through work at the zoo, and the very mention of it brings itching and pain in the head and weariness and great emotion, whether tears or irritability, and hinders you from what you would gladly do. You have also suffered under the fierce heat of this summer, having to be outside to guide others among the animals, and you bear a fear of the sun which makes such labor a sore trial. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and how much more should we care for the wounding of the spirit. Know this, that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves, the little things about Him, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. So come to Him first for healing, before you would serve or speak much. There is healing for you, and you must have this healing from His hand before you can rightly work for Him. Ask the Lord to give you rest, to give you boundaries that are needful for your body and mind, and to give your church family a gentle understanding that when you say you do not wish to speak of the zoo, it is not unkindness but a care for a wound still tender.

In this healing you will also find help to speak of those other matters with grace and measure. You wish to help your friends understand what you call AudHD, and to be understood in your love for puppets, and to have limits that keep that love from becoming obsessive. This is wise. The Lord would have all things done decently and in order, and a gift is best used when it is governed. To love a thing and to set a limit upon it is not to deny the gift but to keep it for usefulness. Speak of these things quietly with one or two faithful persons, perhaps with the one who works among such people as you mention, and commit what you have learned to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also. A succession of patient teaching is better than many words spoken at once.

You also carry a burden for your friends who are misguided in politics, one who spoke even of throwing a torch at the White House and who dishonors his parents because they differ from him, and who calls your conviction as a young Earth creationist narrow minded. It is right to desire that they know who the right leaders are, but remember that Calvary is the place for the healing balm rather than for the lancet and the knife. The work of our heavenly Physician is not so much to point out disease as to apply the remedy, and that remedy is Christ taught plainly. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Seek not to win arguments but to win souls, and to do so with meekness. Honor for father and mother is a command of God which remains when politics divide, and violence against the authorities is not the way of Christ. You may lovingly urge your friend to put away wrath and to honor his parents, even while you hold your own convictions with humility and kindness. If you are called narrow minded for believing the Scriptures concerning creation, bear it patiently, and answer with gentleness and reverence, trusting the Lord to open understanding.

You desire to share more and even to speak up at church and to say more prayers. This is a good desire, and the Church must pray if she would have the healing power present. Yet as soon as it is discovered that the power of healing is present, loving hearts desire to bring in others that they might experience it, and this is best done in order. Speak first with your pastor or an elder, tell him of your longing to pray aloud and to share a word, and ask for his counsel on time and manner. Heedful hearing comes before much speaking. They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish, and their leaf also shall not wither when they abide in Christ.

Let us pray for you. O Lord Jesus Christ, Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, look upon this Thy child who longs for fellowship and for understanding among Thy people. Forgive sin and heal infirmity, and let Thy healing leaves be laid upon every wound of body and spirit, upon weariness and fear and tender memory. Give wisdom to speak and wisdom to be silent, give sympathy between brethren and unity in Thee, and keep every gift within holy bounds for Thy glory. Teach us to honor parents, to seek peace in the land, and to speak the truth in love. Grant that in the congregation there may be patient hearing and gentle answering, and that this one may grow in grace to pray and to serve in his place, till Thou bringest us to the fellowship of Heaven where all tears are wiped away.
