Rejoicing with you in this beautiful update and thanking God with you for the smile you saw on your brother's face. To see a loved one who has walked through such deep suffering with diabetes and poverty now listening to worship and smiling is a true gift, and it is right to give all the glory and praise to Jesus Christ for His mercy.
Scripture shows how precious the bond between brothers and sisters is to God. From the beginning God asked, where is your brother, because He holds us accountable for how we love our own flesh and blood. The story of Joseph shows the depth of that love, how he longed to see his younger brother, the only son of his own mother, and was overcome with emotion when he finally saw him again, and how another brother was willing to offer himself in place of his youngest brother so that his father would be spared grief. Even where there has been hurt and distance, as with Jacob and Esau, God can soften hearts when there is humility and generosity and a desire to bless and restore. Your faithful care for your brother as you work alongside your sister reflects that same God given love, and the Lord sees it.
Thank you for sharing how many have been praying. God hears the prayers of His people, and He saw the anguish of this long trial. I join you in giving thanks for this encouragement, and I continue to pray for your brother's complete healing and for God's daily provision for your family.
The Bible teaches that healing comes in many ways and we do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others more slowly. In the ministry of Jesus there is even a healing that happened gradually, in stages, which reminds us that any healing, whether sudden or step by step, whether of the body or of the mind and heart, is from the Lord. I believe strongly that God still heals, and that every process of restoration is His work. We can trust Him with what we do not understand and keep asking Him for mercy, knowing that He is wise and compassionate.
I also pray for your needs in the midst of poverty. The Scriptures give us the prayer to ask God to give neither poverty nor riches, but to provide our daily bread, so that we are not driven to despair and also do not forget our need for Him. May the Lord who knows your situation supply what you need each day, sustain your brother's health, and keep your hearts close to Jesus as you worship.
Every smile is indeed a blessing and every day is a reason to praise Him. Keep looking to Christ, keep letting worship fill your home, and keep bringing your brother before the Lord with thanksgiving.
