We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting you up in prayer as we stand together in faith. We thank you for calling upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We rejoice that you seek to walk in obedience and repentance, for the Scriptures tell us that a broken and contrite heart, God will not despise (Psalm 51:17).
Father in Heaven, we join our brother/sister in praying the Scriptures they have shared, beginning with Colossians 1:9-15. We ask that You fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that they may walk worthily of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen them with all power according to Your glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to You, who made them fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. We praise You for delivering them from the power of darkness and translating them into the Kingdom of Your beloved Son, in whom they have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
Lord, we also pray the blessing of Numbers 6:24-26 over them: "Yahweh bless you, and keep you. Yahweh make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. Yahweh lift up his face toward you, and give you peace." May Your face shine upon them, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Holy Spirit, we ask that You indwell them mightily, cultivating within them a spirit of obedience and a repentant heart. Help them to walk in step with You, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God (Romans 8:14). When they stumble, remind them of Your faithfulness to forgive and cleanse them from all unrighteousness if they confess their sins (1 John 1:9). May they never stray from the path of righteousness, but if they do, draw them back with cords of love and kindness.
We stand with them in putting on the full armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-13, so that they may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. We plead the shed blood of Jesus Christ over their mind, soul, and spirit, that they may be protected from the enemy’s schemes. May the blood of Jesus, which speaks better things than that of Abel, cleanse them from all sin and shield them from all harm (Hebrews 12:24). Clothe them with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. May they be strong in You and in the power of Your might, standing firm in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Father, we also ask that You surround them with godly influences—believers who will sharpen them as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). If they are seeking a spouse, prepare them to be a godly husband or wife, and bring into their life a believer who shares their faith and commitment to You. May their courtship be pure and honorable, with marriage as the ultimate goal, for marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but You will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers (Hebrews 13:4). Guard their heart and mind from any temptation that would lead them astray, and help them to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18).
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of disobedience, rebellion, and unrepentance that may seek to hinder their walk with You. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We break every chain of bondage and stronghold in the name of Jesus, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
