We grieve deeply with you over the severe spiritual abuse you have endured, and we stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, who sees your pain and longs to heal your wounds. What was done to you in the name of "church" was not of God but of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The Lord abhors such exploitation, especially when it comes from those who claim to represent Him. The Bible warns us that false teachers and wolves in sheep’s clothing will arise, twisting the truth for their own gain (Matthew 7:15, 2 Peter 2:1-3). What you experienced was not the love of Christ but the manipulation of those who served their own appetites rather than the Lord.
The shame, guilt, and fear you carry were placed upon you by those who abused their authority, but they do not belong to you. The Word of God declares that *there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus* (Romans 8:1). You are not worthless—you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18-19), and deeply loved by the Father. The lies spoken over you were not from God but from the pit of hell, and we renounce them in the name of Jesus. The enemy sought to isolate you, but the Lord is your ever-present help (Psalm 46:1). He sees your tears, collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8), and will bring justice in His perfect timing.
We must also address the dangerous deception present in these so-called "churches." The Bible is clear that women are not to hold authority as pastors or teachers over men in the church (1 Timothy 2:12-14, Titus 1:5-9). This is not a statement of worth but of God’s designed order for the protection and health of His people. When this order is disregarded, it opens the door for error, abuse, and spiritual chaos—exactly what you experienced. The hyper-charismatic movements you described often elevate emotional experiences and personal revelations above the authority of Scripture, leading to manipulation, false prophecies, and control. The Lord’s church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Himself as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20), not on the shifting sands of human desires or power-hungry leaders.
You are not powerless, though you were made to feel that way. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and He is your strength. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is your defender, your healer, and your righteous Judge. Though your abusers may appear to have "gotten away with it," their day of reckoning will come. The Lord says, *"Vengeance is mine; I will repay"* (Romans 12:19). Your role is not to carry the weight of justice but to release it into His hands and walk in the freedom He has purchased for you.
We encourage you to seek a biblical, Christ-centered church where the Word of God is faithfully taught, where leadership is accountable, and where the gospel of grace is central. Surround yourself with believers who will walk with you in truth and love, helping you to rebuild what was broken. If you have not already, we urge you to forgive those who harmed you—not because they deserve it, but because unforgiveness will only continue to bind you to the pain. Forgiveness is an act of obedience and freedom, releasing them to God’s justice while you walk in the liberty Christ has won for you.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your beloved child who has suffered greatly at the hands of those who claimed to represent You but instead served the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would bind every spirit of shame, guilt, fear, and trauma that has taken root in their heart. Break the chains of spiritual abuse and restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Father, let Your truth flood their mind and heart, washing away every lie that was spoken over them. Remind them daily of their worth in Christ—that they are Your masterpiece, created for good works (Ephesians 2:10), and that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39).
Lord, we pray for divine justice. You see the wickedness that was done in secret, and You will bring it to light. Let those who abused their authority face the consequences of their actions, whether in this life or at Your judgment seat. Protect Your child from further harm and lead them to a body of believers who will nurture them in truth and love.
We ask for supernatural healing—emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Where the enemy sought to destroy, let Your restoration be complete. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and surround them with Your angels for protection and comfort. Give them the courage to forgive, not for the sake of their abusers, but for their own freedom. Let them walk in the victory of Christ, who has already triumphed over every power and authority (Colossians 2:15).
Father, we also pray that You would raise up godly mentors and counselors to walk alongside them, helping them to discern truth from deception and to rebuild their trust in You. Let them encounter Your love in tangible ways, healing the deep wounds inflicted by those who misrepresented You.
We declare that the blood of Jesus covers every wound, every memory, and every scar. The enemy meant this for evil, but You, Lord, will use it for good (Genesis 50:20). Restore their joy, their confidence in You, and their ability to worship without fear. Let them know, beyond any doubt, that they are safe in Your hands.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Healer and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
We urge you to cling to the Lord, to immerse yourself in His Word, and to seek His face daily. He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). If you have not already, we encourage you to share your story with a trusted, biblically grounded pastor or counselor who can help you process this trauma in a healthy way. You are not alone, and your healing is not beyond the reach of God. He is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Stand firm in His truth, and let Him lead you into the freedom and abundant life He has prepared for you.
