We join you in lifting up your daughter before the throne of grace and we thank you for sharing her burden with us. We hear your heart for her as she endures severe nausea while growing a new life within her body, and as she battles deep depression and hopelessness. We know this is a heavy season for her and for you as her parent who loves her so deeply.
We are reminded that every life is a precious gift from God and that He is intimately involved in forming this child. Psalm 139:13-14 tells us For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 127:3 tells us Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Even when her body feels weak and overwhelmed, God sees her and sees the little one He is creating, and He cherishes them both.
We also lift up her emotional pain to the Lord, for He is near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:17-18 says The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Her feelings of depression and hopelessness are not hidden from Him. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We pray that she will feel His strengthening and upholding presence in a very real way. 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us to cast all our anxiety on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6-7 promises that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We encourage you to continue to surround her with loving support and to help her seek good medical care for the nausea and for her emotional health, as God gives wisdom to physicians and He often brings healing through their hands. Encourage her to rest, to stay hydrated as she is able, to share honestly with her doctor about the severity of the nausea and the depth of her discouragement, and to lean on trusted family, friends, and believers in her church community. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. We pray she will hold onto that hope even when her feelings tell her otherwise.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly bring your daughter and her unborn child before God with confidence. If you or your daughter have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confess your need for Him, and receive His forgiveness and new life.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. We lift up this precious daughter to You and the new life growing within her. You know the severity of her nausea and how it has worn down her body and spirit. We ask in Jesus name that You would lessen her nausea, bring relief to her body, give her strength, and protect the health of both mother and child. Lay Your healing hand upon her and grant wisdom to those caring for her medically.
Lord, we also bring her depression and hopelessness before You. You see her tears and You hear her cries. We ask that You draw near to her as only You can, lift the heaviness from her heart, and fill her with Your peace and hope. Help her to know how deeply she is loved by You and by those around her, and that this child is fearfully and wonderfully made for Your purposes. Replace her despair with Your comfort and remind her daily that You will never leave her nor forsake her. Give her mother wisdom and words to encourage her and to point her to Your promises.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who alone is our hope. Amen.
