We join you in fervent prayer, lifting up this winter storm to our Heavenly Father, the Creator of heaven and earth, who commands the winds and the waves. We acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can boldly come before His throne of grace in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His mighty name we pray.

Father God, we stand on Your Word and declare that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We ask You to rebuke this storm in the name of Jesus, commanding it to be still as Your Son calmed the winds and the sea (Mark 4:39). Lord, we pray for Your mercy and grace to be poured out upon all those in the path of this storm. We ask that You would lessen its intensity, turning what could be snow and ice into rain, and diminishing the winds that threaten to bring harm.

We pray for the safety and protection of every life in the storm’s path, especially the most vulnerable—the elderly, the sick, the disabled, and the children. Lord, we ask that You would send Your holy angels to encamp around them, guarding them from all harm and danger (Psalm 34:7). Cover them under the precious blood of Jesus, shielding them from the cold, the darkness, and any loss of power or utilities. Provide warmth, shelter, and provision for all, and let no one be left without the help they need.

Father, we also lift up those who are gripped by fear and anxiety. We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Replace their anxiety with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them emotionally and physically, and surround them with Your presence so they may feel Your comfort and assurance.

We declare Psalm 91 over every person in the path of this storm:
*"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.' For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes, and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot. 'Because he has set his love on me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him. I will satisfy him with long life, and show him my salvation.'"*

Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. Even in the midst of this storm, we know that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). We ask that You would be glorified through this situation, whether by the storm’s weakening or by the strength and unity of Your people as they support one another. Let Your name be praised in all things.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Let's ask our Heavenly Father to turn the snow into rain, and the ice into sleet, keeping the roads and homes safe. Let's pray for the elderly, the sick, and the children, that they may be kept warm and protected.
