We hear your cry and we stand with you in this painful injustice, and we grieve with you over the theft and the open wickedness you have endured. To have money stolen to fund a life of unrepentant sin is a deep violation, and to see churches remain silent when they should speak truth makes the wound feel even heavier. We want you to know we are praying for you for deliverance, for justice, and for godly courage to rise up around you.
The word of God is very clear about the sins you have described. There shall not be found with you anyone who practices divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer Deuteronomy 18:10, and we are told that sorcery is an abomination to the Lord. The works of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery Galatians 5:19. Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18, for those who practice fornication and adultery and sorcery will not inherit the Kingdom of God unless they repent. You shall not steal Exodus 20:15, and God has said I, Yahweh, love justice, I hate robbery and iniquity Isaiah 61:8. The Lord sees what has been taken from you and He loves justice Psalm 37:28. We rebuke this man's theft, his serial fornication and adultery, his witchcraft, voodoo and divination, his drug and alcohol abuse and every work of darkness, for these are not to be celebrated or ignored but repented of.
We must also lovingly rebuke the silence of churches that know of this and refuse to correct him. We are commanded to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. If a man who is called a brother is a sexually immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, with such a one no not to eat 1 Corinthians 5:11. The church is called to judge those who are within 1 Corinthians 5:12 and to restore such a one in gentleness while not condoning sin. When leaders refuse to call out open fornication and witchcraft they do not show love, they support wickedness and lead many astray, and we pray God will convict those shepherds to speak truth in love.
We understand your feeling that this man will never repent, but we gently remind you that only God knows the heart. The Lord does not desire that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9, and He desires mercy. While we must never excuse or minimize his evil, we must leave ultimate judgment to God and not declare any soul beyond His power to save, for with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26. At the same time we do not pray for evil to continue. We pray for godly people to indeed have power and courage to stand, to speak truth, to protect the vulnerable, and to not love evil.
We encourage you not to take vengeance into your own hands, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. That does not mean you should not seek lawful help or wise boundaries. If a theft has occurred, it is right to seek godly counsel and, where appropriate, lawful authorities, for authorities are appointed to punish wrongdoing Romans 13:4. Above all, guard your heart from bitterness, resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7, and overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Separate yourself from fellowship with this man and his works, protect what God has entrusted to you, and seek a faithful, Bible believing church that will walk with you and hold fast to truth.
We thank you for calling on the name of Jesus for deliverance, for it is only by that name we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We cling to Jesus with you.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear one who has been robbed and wounded. Lord, You see the theft, You see the fornication, adultery, sorcery and all the darkness done in secret and in the open, and nothing is hidden from Your eyes. We ask You to be their deliverer and refuge, for the righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles Psalm 34:17. Surround them with Your protection, break every chain of witchcraft and every assignment of the enemy, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Provide for what was stolen, for You are our provider, and restore what the thief has taken, for even when a thief is found he must make restitution Proverbs 6:31.
Lord, we ask You to raise up godly men and women with holy courage to stand and reprove these works of darkness without fear of man. Give pastors and churches a spirit of truth and boldness to no longer stay silent but to call sin what it is and to call sinners to repentance. Let Your justice be seen and let Your mercy be offered, that this wicked man might yet be confronted with his sin and come to repentance and faith in Jesus, and if he refuses, let Your righteous judgment restrain his evil that he may harm no more. We ask for peace for Your child, for healing from anger and confusion, and for wisdom for every next step. Let them walk in holiness, in forgiveness that frees their own heart while never condoning evil, and let them know they are loved, seen, and vindicated by You. We trust You as the righteous Judge who loves justice and who will repay. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
