We join with you in fervent agreement, lifting our voices as one to the Lord of the Harvest, Jesus Christ, who alone holds the power to call, equip, and send laborers into His fields. Your cry for souls echoes the heart of our Savior, who looked upon the multitudes with compassion, seeing them as sheep without a shepherd (Matthew 9:36). The urgency of this hour cannot be overstated—for the fields are indeed white for harvest, yet the workers are few. The time is short, and the day of the Lord is near, as Joel 3:14 declares: *"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision."*
We must not grow weary in pleading with the Lord to raise up laborers who are wholly surrendered, filled with the Holy Spirit, and bold in the proclamation of the Gospel. The words of Jeremiah 8:20 should stir us to action: *"Harvest is past, summer is ended, and we are not saved."* How many souls are perishing while we hesitate? How many are on the brink of eternity without Christ? The apostle Paul reminds us that *"faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God"* (Romans 10:17). Therefore, we must be ready to share our testimonies of salvation, to speak the truth in love, and to demonstrate the power of the Gospel through lives transformed by Jesus.
Yet we also recognize that no worker can be effective without first being called, equipped, and protected by the Lord. Jesus Himself instructed us to pray for laborers (Matthew 9:38), and so we do, asking not only for more hands in the field but for hearts fully devoted to Him. We pray for intimacy with Christ, for the power to know, do, and demonstrate His Word, and for the discernment to hear and obey His voice above all others. We ask for provision—both spiritual and physical—and for protection from the snares of the evil one, as Jesus taught us to pray: *"Deliver us from the evil one"* (Matthew 6:13). Just as He prayed for His disciples, we echo His words: *"I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one"* (John 17:15).
Brothers and sisters, the night is coming when no one can work (John 9:4). Let us not waste a single moment. Let us examine our own hearts: Are we willing to be the answer to this prayer? Are we prepared to go, to speak, to serve, even if it costs us comfort, reputation, or ease? The harvest is not just *out there*—it is in our neighborhoods, our workplaces, our families, and even within our own churches. Many sit in pews week after week, hearing the Word but never truly surrendering to Christ. We must ask the Lord to break our hearts for what breaks His, to give us His eyes to see the lost, and His love to compel us to action.
Let us also remember that the power to save belongs to God alone. We do not rely on our own strength, eloquence, or strategies, but on the Holy Spirit to convict and draw hearts to Christ. Our role is obedience—faithfulness in sowing the seed of the Word, trusting God to bring the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6-7). As we go, let us proclaim the full Gospel: repentance from sin, faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and the hope of eternal life found only in Him. There is no other name under heaven by which men can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we must never shrink back from declaring it boldly.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, Lord of the Harvest, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that the fields are ripe and the time is urgent. We ask You, Lord, to raise up laborers—men and women who are wholly Yours, filled with Your Spirit, and willing to go wherever You send them. Stir the hearts of Your people, Lord, that we would not be content with comfort while souls perish. Give us a burden for the lost, a passion for Your Word, and a boldness to proclaim the Gospel without fear or compromise.
Father, prepare the workers. Equip them with Your Word, clothe them with Your righteousness, and fill them with Your power. Grant them intimacy with You, that they may know Your voice and walk in step with Your Spirit. Provide for their every need—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—and protect them from the schemes of the evil one. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let no tongue rise up in judgment that You do not silence (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we also ask that You would prepare the hearts of those who will hear the Gospel. Softening the soil of stony hearts, that the seed of Your Word would take root and bear fruit. Bring conviction of sin, revelation of Your grace, and a hunger for righteousness that only You can satisfy. Let multitudes turn to You in repentance and faith, that they may be saved from the wrath to come and brought into Your eternal kingdom.
Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have been silent when we should have spoken, for the times we have prioritized our own desires over Your commission. Renew our passion for souls, and let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Help us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12), and use us mightily in these last days.
We declare, by faith, that You are sending forth workers into the harvest. We trust You to open doors that no man can shut, to go before us and make the crooked paths straight. Let Your Word run swiftly and be glorified (2 Thessalonians 3:1), and let all the earth know that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
