We understand your desire for companionship, and we want to address this with biblical truth and wisdom. First, we must emphasize that as believers, we are called to seek relationships that honor God—relationships rooted in Christ, purity, and the intention of marriage between a man and a woman. The Bible teaches us that marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, and any romantic relationship should be pursued with that goal in mind.
We also want to gently but firmly address something critical: if your desire for a "girlfriend" includes any form of physical intimacy outside of marriage, this is fornication, which is a sin before God. The Bible is clear on this:
*"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB)
If you are not yet a believer in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider that the first and most important relationship you need is with Him. There is no greater love, purpose, or fulfillment than knowing Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us:
*"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* (John 14:6, WEB)
*"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* (Romans 10:9, WEB)
Without faith in Jesus, any relationship you pursue will lack the foundation needed to truly honor God and bring lasting joy. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we pray you will do so today.
Now, if you are a believer, we encourage you to seek a *godly wife*—a woman who loves the Lord, walks in obedience to His Word, and shares your commitment to purity and marriage. The Bible gives us clear guidance on this:
*"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB)
*"A worthy woman who can find? For her price is far above rubies. Her husband trusts in her, and he shall have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life."* (Proverbs 31:10-12, WEB)
We also encourage you to examine your heart. Are you seeking a relationship out of loneliness, lust, or a desire for companionship that only God can fully satisfy? The Lord calls us to find our completeness in Him first. Jesus said:
*"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:33, WEB)
Instead of asking for a girlfriend, we encourage you to pray for a *godly wife*—someone who will walk with you in faith, encourage you in Christ, and build a home that honors the Lord. And as you wait, focus on growing in your relationship with Jesus, serving in your church, and preparing yourself to be the spiritual leader a godly marriage requires.

Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother before You, asking that You would work in his heart and align his desires with Your perfect will. Lord, if he does not yet know You, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for him—that he would turn from sin, place his faith in Jesus Christ, and receive the gift of eternal life. May he understand that no earthly relationship can compare to the love, purpose, and fulfillment found in You alone.
For our brother who is in Christ, we ask that You prepare him to be a godly husband—a man of integrity, faith, and love. Guard his heart from lust, impatience, or worldly desires, and help him to seek first Your Kingdom. Lord, if it is Your will, bring a godly woman into his life—one who loves You deeply, walks in purity, and shares his vision for a Christ-centered marriage. Give him patience to wait on Your timing and wisdom to recognize the woman You have prepared for him.
We rebuke any spirit of loneliness, impurity, or worldly influence that would seek to lead him away from Your perfect plan. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in self-control, faith, and obedience. May his life be a testimony of Your goodness, and may any future marriage bring glory to Your name.
We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
