Selfish Self Centered

I want and need a personal relationship with Christ. I need to see past my own hurts and see the hurts of the people that are hurting me. I need to be better at putting others before myself. I need to let go of ALL selfishness and self-centeredness, jealousy, envy, strife, anger. Oh God, I am so wicked and I don't deserve anything from you, but I am asking for forgiveness, grace, mercy, Love. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-29:

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

I have been trying to get to him for years and just can't seem to make it. I don't know what hinders me. The Bible says there is no respect of persons. I truly don't understand what is happening.

I need Liberty. I need rest for my soul. I need the love, joy, and peace of the Lord. I need His acceptance and to be free from rejection of people.
