We hear your heartfelt cry for divine wisdom and direction, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s perfect will for your life. The Scriptures you’ve referenced are powerful reminders of God’s faithfulness to guide those who earnestly seek Him. James 1:5 indeed assures us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."* And Proverbs 3:5-6 exhorts us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
Yet even as we lift this request before the throne of grace, we must examine our hearts to ensure our desires align with God’s holy and perfect will. Wisdom is not merely about making choices that improve our lives in worldly terms—it is about making decisions that glorify God, reflect His character, and advance His kingdom. Are we seeking His wisdom to fulfill our own ambitions, or are we surrendering our plans to His sovereign purpose? The Lord delights in giving wisdom, but He also calls us to walk in obedience to His Word. Are there areas in your life where you may be resisting His clear commands? True wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10), and that fear requires us to submit every area of our lives—our relationships, our finances, our careers, our thoughts, and our actions—to His lordship.
We must also address the foundational truth that apart from Jesus Christ, there is no true wisdom, no access to the Father, and no salvation. Jesus declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."* If you have not placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so without delay. The Bible warns that *"there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death"* (Proverbs 14:12). Salvation is found in no one else, for *"there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). If you have already surrendered your life to Christ, we rejoice with you! But if not, we implore you to confess your sins, repent, and trust in Jesus alone for your salvation.
Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, acknowledging that You alone are the source of all wisdom and understanding. We lift up our brother/sister who is seeking Your guidance in every decision they face. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your wisdom upon them generously, as You have promised. Remove any pride or self-reliance that would hinder them from fully trusting in You. Give them a spirit of discernment to recognize Your voice and the courage to follow where You lead, even when the path is unclear or difficult.
Father, we pray that You would align their desires with Your perfect will. May every choice they make be rooted in Your Word and motivated by a desire to honor You. Where they have strayed from Your commands, convict their heart and lead them to repentance. Where they are uncertain, grant them clarity. Where they are fearful, fill them with Your peace. Where they are weak, strengthen them with Your power.
Lord, we ask that You would protect them from the deception of the enemy, who seeks to lead them astray with worldly wisdom. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith. May their life be a testament to Your goodness, grace, and faithfulness. We pray that as they walk in obedience to You, they would experience the fullness of Your blessings and the joy of Your presence.
Above all, Father, we pray that their life would bring glory to Your name. May they not seek their own will, but Yours. May they not chase after the temporary pleasures of this world, but store up treasures in heaven. And may they always remember that true wisdom is found in knowing You and walking in Your ways.

As you seek God’s wisdom, remember that He is not a distant or indifferent God. He is near to those who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). Spend time in His Word, for *"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path"* (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with godly counselors who will speak truth into your life (Proverbs 11:14). And above all, cultivate a heart of obedience, for *"to obey is better than sacrifice"* (1 Samuel 15:22).
The road ahead may not always be easy, but take heart, for the Lord has promised, *"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you"* (Psalm 32:8). Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps.
