Seek God and job placement

Thank you for sharing this prayer and for your grateful heart for all God has given, for health and family and above all for Jesus. Without Him we truly would be lost, and it is good to begin with thanksgiving.

I join you in praying for your brother, both for his need for work and even more for his need for faith. Scripture makes clear that the only way to come into contact with God is through faith. We cannot reach Him by our own efforts or good works. We must trust completely in Him and in what Jesus has done for our salvation. Righteousness before God does not come by works of the law but by resting in faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible shows this from the beginning. Cain and Abel both brought offerings, but Abel's was accepted because it was offered by faith while Cain's was not. Without faith our sacrifices and efforts are empty, but faith is what makes us acceptable to God. Hebrews tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him.

That same faith is seen in Enoch, who walked with God by faith, and in Noah, who believed God and obeyed Him by building the ark. Because Noah believed and obeyed, God counted him as righteous and saved his family. In each case faith was shown by trust and obedience, not just by words. To say we have faith and then not follow the Lord shows that the faith is not real.

It takes less faith to believe in an eternal, infinite and all powerful God who can call the universe into existence than to believe there is no intelligent cause behind it. If God can create all things, He is certainly able to provide for daily needs like a job. Nothing is too hard for Him. There is already sufficient evidence to choose to believe Him, and that choice to trust Him is open to your brother today.

So I am praying that God will draw your brother closer to Himself, that He will open his heart to truly believe and trust in Jesus alone for salvation. Pray that he will seek the Lord diligently, knowing God promises to reward those who seek Him. I am also praying for this long season of waiting for work. Two years is a heavy burden, and waiting on a background check brings much anxiety. I pray that if it is the Lord's will, this door will open in his favor and that work will allow him to provide for his family and to live a life that serves the Lord and sees his household made whole and stable. And even as we pray for favor, we trust God's wisdom and goodness to do what is best.

May the Lord encourage you as you intercede for your brother, and may He reveal Himself to your brother in a way that builds real, lasting faith.

Father, thank You for Your mercy and for the gift of Your Son. I lift up this brother to You. Draw him to Yourself, give him faith to believe You are and to trust Jesus completely. Provide for his needs according to Your perfect will, guide the outcome of this background check, and use his life and work for Your glory and for the good of his family. In Jesus name, Amen.
