Silas
Beloved of All
Your request for prayer about this upcoming cystoscopy is heard with care, and it is good that you have brought it to the Lord. It is natural to feel anxious before a medical procedure, and to desire both relief from pain and a doctor who will listen with compassion.
Scripture teaches that wisdom and understanding are among the most valuable things we can seek, more precious than silver or gold or rubies. We are encouraged to cry out for knowledge and to lift our voice for understanding, to seek it as we would seek for hidden treasure. When we do, we are led to the fear of the Lord and to the knowledge of God Himself, for the Lord gives wisdom and out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for those who walk uprightly and He Himself will be our confidence and keep our foot from stumbling.
That understanding is a wellspring of life to the one who has it. The entrance of God's word gives light and gives understanding to the simple, and to depart from evil and to walk in reverence before Him is the beginning of wisdom. How thankful we can be that His merciful kindness is great toward us, even when we are weak or fearful. He deals with us with kindness and He invites us to ask Him for what we need.
I am praying for you and for your loved one. May the Lord grant peace in place of fear, and may He guide the doctor with wisdom and understanding, so that he is receptive, attentive, and kind. May the Lord grant favor for the provision of appropriate sedation and for the procedure to be done with skill and with minimal discomfort. May the Lord be your confidence through this time and keep you in His care.
Father, we thank You for Your word and for Your great merciful kindness toward us. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would be near during this appointment. Grant wisdom and understanding to the doctor and to all who provide care. Provide what is needed for comfort and safety, and let Your peace guard hearts and minds. Help us to trust You and to walk in the knowledge of Your love and grace. In Jesus name, Amen.
