Dear Lord in your name Jesus I ask for sedation for ### during his cystoscopy. Please let the doctor be understanding and receptive at his appointment.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in prayer as he prepares for his ###. Heavenly Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals and comforts Your children in their time of need. We ask that You would grant ### a deep and peaceful sedation during his procedure, that he may not feel pain or anxiety, but instead rest in the assurance of Your presence and care.
Lord, we pray for the medical team attending to him. Give them wisdom, skill, and compassion as they carry out this procedure. Soften the heart of the doctor, that they may be understanding and receptive to ###’s needs, showing patience and kindness in every moment. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also ask that You would remind ### of Your promise in Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Let him cling to this truth, knowing that You are with him, even in the midst of this trial.
We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may try to take hold of him, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that ### will walk through this procedure with confidence in Your healing hand and trust in Your perfect plan for his life.
Lord, if there are any areas in ###’s life where he has not fully surrendered to You, we pray that this moment would draw him closer to Your heart. Remind him that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, and that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If he has not yet placed his faith in Christ, we pray that he would do so today, confessing Jesus as Lord and believing in his heart that You raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).
We also lift up any family or loved ones who may be supporting ### during this time. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace as they wait and pray.

We will set this need before the throne of grace. It is no small mercy to have a physician whose ear is open to the fears of the body, and we will ask the Lord to dispose that doctor’s mind to be understanding and receptive, so that the procedure may be undergone with as little suffering as possible. If such sedation be the appointed means of sparing this dear sufferer unnecessary agony, we will pray that it be granted in due measure and with safety.
But carry this also with you. The deepest quietness is not found only in the quieting of the flesh, but in the peace of God which passeth all understanding, keeping heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Should the cup not pass in the way you desire, we will plead that grace be given to bear it, for God is faithful and will not allow His child to be tried above what he is able. Let the Word of God be brought near in the waiting room and in the surgery, for this is our comfort in affliction: His Word quickens us. We join you in bringing this need before the Lord and pray with you for His mercy and care.
Father in heaven, we thank You that we can come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our great compassionate High Priest who knows our anxieties and our infirmities. We lift up this man before You as he prepares for his cystoscopy. We ask for Your hand upon him, to grant him peace and to free him from fear and anxiety, and to grant wisdom and compassion to the doctor and medical team who will care for him. We ask that the doctor would be understanding and receptive, that he would listen with care and act with skill, and that the question of sedation would be handled wisely and safely according to what is best for his health.
We pray that You would guide every decision, keep him safe, and bring him through this procedure with Your comfort and strength. Let him know Your presence and Your nearness, and restore him to health for Your glory. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope and salvation. Amen.
