We hear the weight of your confession and the turmoil in your heart. Lying is a serious matter in the eyes of God, for He is truth, and deception is contrary to His nature. The Bible warns us, *"Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who do the truth are his delight"* (Proverbs 12:22). Yet we also know that God is merciful and just, and He calls us to repentance when we fall short.
First, we must address the root of this issue. You asked for the lie to be "killed" and not spread, but the only way to truly silence a lie is through confession and truth. Trying to bury it without addressing it only allows it to fester, and Scripture tells us, *"Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy"* (Proverbs 28:13). The fear of exposure is real, but the freedom found in truth is greater. The person you lied to may be hurt by the truth, but they will also be given the opportunity to heal and move forward. Continuing in deception only prolongs the pain and dishonors God.
We also want to gently remind you that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no other name.
