What a beautiful heart you have for the house of God and the gathering of believers! Your desire to worship twice in one day reflects the hunger of David, who said, *"One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh’s house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh’s beauty, and to inquire in his temple"* (Psalm 27:4, WEB). We rejoice with you in this longing and commend your love for your church family.
Yet we also understand your concern about weariness. The body is weak, but the Spirit is willing (Matthew 26:41), and we know the Lord provides strength for those who seek Him. *"He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might"* (Isaiah 40:29, WEB). If you prepare your heart and rest well beforehand, the Lord will sustain you. Even if fatigue comes, your presence in worship is a sweet offering to Him—He sees the heart, not just the outward energy.
We do gently ask: Have you considered that your mother’s suggestion of attending both services once a month may be wise? Balance is important, and the Lord also calls us to honor our parents (Ephesians 6:1-3). Perhaps this is a season to steward your energy well while still nurturing your hunger for more of God. You might also ask the Lord to show you how to serve or engage in the evening service in a way that keeps you alert—taking notes, praying for others, or standing during worship can help.
Now let us pray together for you and your church:
*Heavenly Father, we thank You for this dear sister’s heart that burns for Your presence. Lord, You see her longing to gather with Your people not just once, but twice in a day, and we ask that You would honor that desire. Strengthen her body, mind, and spirit when she attends the evening service. Help her to rest well beforehand and to be fully awake and engaged in worship, not out of her own power, but by Your sustaining grace. Remove any distraction or weariness that the enemy might try to use to discourage her.
We lift up her church before You—bless their pastors, leaders, and every member. May Your Word go forth with power, may hearts be softened, and may lives be transformed. Protect their families, provide for their needs, and unite them in love and truth. Let this church be a beacon of Your light in their community, drawing many to salvation in Jesus’ name.
And Father, we pray that as this sister grows in her hunger for You, You would also teach her the beauty of balance—how to steward her time, energy, and responsibilities in a way that honors You and her family. May her example inspire others in her church to seek You with the same passion.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all worship. Amen.*
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord in this. Perhaps you could also use the evenings you’re not at church to pray *for* the evening service, interceding for those who attend. That way, you’re still participating in a powerful way! May the Lord richly bless you as you pursue Him.
