Scriptures

I have been attending bible study more often but sometime I feel like I don't know enough to participate in the discussions. What are some of the most common scriptures that can help get me started and give me a better foundation. What are some of your favorite scriptures and why.

(How to obtain your hearts desire)
Matthew 6:33
English Standard Version
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

(Our purpose in this life)
ROMANS 8:28-29
28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;

My favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:9 - It's probably one of the most poetic verses in the bible. But I love it mostly because of the preceding verses. Paul acknowledges that he is unqualified to speak before the elite, but for the fact that God has equipped him by the spirit. God will do the same for you. Stay in the Word and let God speak through you. Then you can tell us what your favorite scripture is. Blessings

BTW one day I noticed that this scripture contained my date of birth 1/29. I love it when God does little things like that lol

I’m reading and praying but I’m not getting any idea on what my purpose is or what steps God wants me to take? Which ideas I should give up? I’m so confused. Please if anyone can read a scripture passage on my behalf and tell me what they glean. Thanks.
