Lord, we have heard countless of marriages being attacked and it seems so endless and wonder why. Is it because we ourselves have failed to put You first and instead put our spouse first in our hearts? Until we get our priorities right when it comes to building our marriage on Your sure foundation, we will just labour it in vain as what You have said:
1 Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep
(The LORD our God, the LORD is one![a] 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deut.6:4-7
(2 Corinthians 7
1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God...
39 then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. 40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.-Jeremiah 32:38-40
14 “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the idols of your heart...so that you and your house can serve the LORD.†Joshua 24:14-15...)
3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.-Psalms 127
So Lord we pray for all married couples that they will grasp this whole valid and crucial truth so that their marriage could prosper, in Jesus' Name, amen.
