We hear your cry of distress and feel the weight of your fear and sense of abandonment. In times like these, it is crucial to remember that you are never truly alone, for the Lord is with you. The psalmist declares, "Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). Even when circumstances seem overwhelming, God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we want to address the seriousness of the situation you are facing. Being pressured into signing a legally binding contract that could be considered fraudulent is not only unethical but also sinful. Scripture warns us, "Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7). Fraud is a violation of God’s commandments, specifically the eighth commandment, "You shall not steal" (Exodus 20:15), and the ninth, "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor" (Exodus 20:16). We must stand firm against injustice and deceit, trusting that God will provide a way out.
We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you in this moment. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear is not from God, and it should not dictate your actions. Instead, lean on the power of the Holy Spirit to guide you and give you wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
We also want to gently remind you of the importance of calling on the name of Jesus in all things. It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you" (John 16:23). Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and was raised to life, that we might be reconciled to God (Romans 10:9-10). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we encourage you to do so now, for He is the only way to eternal life and peace with God.
Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, who feels scared and abandoned in the face of this legal battle. Lord, You are the God who sees and knows all things, and You are aware of the pressure and injustice they are facing. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give them the wisdom and discernment they need to navigate this situation, Lord, and reveal to them the path they should take.
Father, we pray against the spirit of fear that seeks to overwhelm them. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in power, love, and self-control. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their ever-present help in times of trouble. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We ask that You would expose any deceit or fraud in this contract and bring it to light. Lord, You hate injustice and oppression, and we trust that You will act on behalf of this one who is being wronged. Provide them with godly counsel and legal support, if needed, and give them the courage to stand firm in the truth. We pray that You would turn this situation around for Your glory and their good, Lord, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Father, we also pray for their emotional and spiritual well-being. Comfort them in their loneliness and remind them that You are always with them. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with Your love and the support of fellow believers who can encourage and uplift them during this time.
Lord, we ask that You would draw this one closer to You, that they may find their strength and hope in You alone. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from a trusted pastor, Christian attorney, or mature believer who can provide wisdom and support. Do not make any hasty decisions out of fear or pressure. Remember, "The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy" (James 3:17). God’s wisdom will guide you in the right path.
Continue to stand on God’s promises and trust in His timing. Even when the situation seems dire, remember that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and do not grow weary in doing what is right. The Lord is your strength, and He will uphold you with His righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
