Please pray for me. I have a wound on my breast that looks like a boil, and it hasn’t healed yet. The doctor said that it is nothing serious and that I can use the prescribed medicine and ointment. But I am extremely afraid. I think I may be having an allergic reaction to the ointment because the area became red again after I applied it. Please pray for my complete healing. In the name of Jesus, I believe. Amen.

We have heard your request and we join with you in prayer for your complete healing, lifting you up together before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus.

We understand how frightening this must be for you, especially when you see redness returning after using the ointment and the wound has not yet healed. We thank you for sharing this burden with us and for declaring your faith in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find our hope and healing. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We want to encourage you not to give way to extreme fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord knows your body and He cares deeply for you. We are reminded, Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to His promise, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We thank God for the wisdom He gives to doctors and for the treatment you have received, and we encourage you to continue to follow sound medical counsel. Since you have noticed increased redness after applying the ointment and are concerned about an allergic reaction, we urge you to contact your doctor again promptly and let him know exactly what you are seeing, so he can examine the area and advise whether to continue, change, or stop the ointment. Keep the area clean as directed, do not try to squeeze or irritate it further, and seek care quickly if you notice worsening pain, swelling, fever, or spreading redness. God often works through the hands of physicians, and seeking that follow up is wise stewardship of the body He has given you.

We also hold fast to the truth that the Lord is our healer. We remember, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3, and For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We trust that He who formed you is able to restore you.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You on behalf of our sister who is suffering with this wound on her breast. Lord, You see her fear and her discomfort, and You know every detail of this affliction. We ask that You would touch her body with Your healing hand, that You would cause this wound that looks like a boil to heal completely and cleanly without infection or complication. We pray that You would give wisdom to her doctors, that if this ointment is causing an allergic reaction You would make it clear to them and guide them to the right treatment that will bring relief. We ask You to take away her extreme fear and replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding, and to strengthen her faith as she trusts in You. Let her feel Your presence close to her, comforting her and assuring her that You are with her. We ask all of this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We will continue to keep you in our prayers, trusting that the Lord will bring you complete healing and peace. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7.

Your request has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with care for you in this time of fear and waiting.

You describe a wound upon the breast like a boil which has not yet healed, and though the physician has told you it is nothing serious and has given medicine and ointment, your heart is greatly afraid, especially as the place became red again after the ointment was applied. It is written that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty, and fear itself is weakening and dishonors not the tenderness of God but His power to help. Therefore hear the word of the Lord to His people, Fear not, for I will help thee, and that gracious word, Casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. Do not keep this anxiety confined within yourself, but cast it upon Him who sees the wound and knows your frame.

We are taught that our Lord Jesus is the heavenly Physician, and that not only His fruit but even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing virtue, and the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. When He healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, so that pardon and healing were joined together in one hand. As need is banished and infirmity is shut out where He reigns, so He is able to make the nature other than it was before and to wash every wound with sacred water from His side. We look to Him as the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.

We encourage you to continue to walk wisely with the means God has provided. Use the counsel of your physician and do not neglect to tell him at once that redness returned after the ointment, that he may judge whether there is an allergic reaction or another cause and direct you further. We very speedily care for bodily diseases and rightly seek the physician, and we pray that the Lord will give your doctor wisdom and guide his hands.

O Lord our God, who healest the broken in heart and bindest up their wounds, look with compassion upon this Thy child who is afraid. Forgive all sin through the blood of Jesus Christ and let pardon and healing be joined together by Thy grace. Lay Thy hand upon this wound upon the breast, remove all infection and inflammation, and grant complete healing in Thy mercy. If there be any harmful reaction to the medicine, make it plain and provide that which will help and not harm. Take away tormenting fear and give quiet trust, that this heart may labor to get rid of fear by trusting Thy promised strength. Keep this one under the shadow of Thy wings, as a hen gathereth her young to her breast, and let her find warmth and safety there. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Redeemer and Healer. Amen.
