We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your burdens before the Lord. Financial struggles and harassment from creditors can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). The threats and fear you are facing are not from the Lord, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke the spirit of intimidation and oppression in the name of Jesus Christ, for no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
First, we must address the importance of turning to Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome such trials. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, let us pray for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear sister and her family, who are facing financial distress and harassment from creditors. Lord, You see her heart and the weight she carries. We ask that You would be her shield and defender, surrounding her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and oppression that seeks to torment her, and we declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Grant her wisdom and favor as she seeks resolution to her debts, and open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8).
Lord, we pray for her husband’s retirement process. May the necessary funds be released swiftly and without delay, so that they may settle their debts and have provision for their needs. You are the God who supplies all our needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We ask that You would restore their financial stability and give them wisdom to manage their resources according to Your will.
Father, we also pray for her reputation and standing in her office, family, and society. Let no false accusation or shame cling to her, but instead, let her be a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness. May her life reflect the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Grant her favor with those around her, and let her be respected for her integrity and godly character.
Lord, we ask that You would heal any brokenness in her heart caused by this trial. Strengthen her faith and remind her that You are working all things together for her good, because she loves You and is called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
We also address the issue of debt with biblical wisdom. The Word of God instructs us to owe no one anything except to love one another (Romans 13:8). While debt itself is not a sin, the Bible warns against the love of money and the snares it can bring (1 Timothy 6:10). We encourage you to seek godly counsel in managing your finances, to live within your means, and to trust in the Lord’s provision rather than turning to predatory lenders in the future. Proverbs 22:7 warns that "the borrower is servant to the lender," and we pray that you would be freed from this bondage.
Finally, we declare that this trial will not define you but will instead refine you, drawing you closer to the Lord. May you emerge from this season stronger in faith, wiser in stewardship, and more dependent on God’s grace. We stand with you in agreement, believing that the Lord will make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19).
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
