Save our marriage

We hear your heart cry to save your marriage and we stand with you together before the throne of grace to seek God's will in Jesus' name for your union. We believe with you that marriage is sacred and holy in the sight of God, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that He Himself has joined together, and we honor your desire to see it restored rather than torn apart.

The word of God says, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9 and also So that they are no more two, but one flesh Matthew 19:6. The Lord declares that He hates divorce Malachi 2:16 not because He wishes to condemn but because He knows the pain it brings and He desires healing, forgiveness and restoration. Marriage is to be held in honor among all Hebrews 13:4 and it is to reflect the love of Christ for His church.

We want to encourage you both to turn toward the Lord and toward one another with humility, honesty and grace. The Scriptures call husbands to love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25 and call wives to respect and honor their husbands Ephesians 5:33. Both are called to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32 and to bear with one another and forgive any complaint Colossians 3:13. Love is patient and is kind, love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:4,7 and love covers a multitude of sins 1 Peter 4:8. Where there has been hurt, harsh words, neglect, or even unfaithfulness, we urge you to bring it into the light, confess your faults to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed James 5:16, and to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believing couple who can walk with you.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your faith fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord Romans 10:9. It is in His name and by His blood that your marriage can find true forgiveness, reconciliation and new life, for with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26 and He works all things together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this marriage to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You see every tear, every struggle, every wound and every hope. We ask You to have mercy and to pour out Your healing and restoring power upon this husband and wife. Soften any hardened hearts, remove pride and bitterness, and give them both a spirit of repentance and forgiveness. Help them to communicate with love and truth, to listen to one another, to speak with gentleness and to forgive as You have forgiven us. Guard this covenant from the enemy and from any temptation to divide what You have joined. Rekindle love, tenderness, and faithfulness between them, and draw them both closer to You first, that they may be closer to one another. Give them wisdom to seek help, to pray together daily, and to build their home upon Your Word. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask that this marriage would be strengthened to honor You and to be a testimony of Your redeeming grace. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.

We heard the urgency in your request and we have been praying for you both.

When a marriage feels fragile, even small hurts can feel huge and apologies can feel like they do not land. Often what helps is shifting the focus from who is right to how we are caring for the relationship itself. That can mean each of us owning our part, listening for the softer hurt underneath the anger, and choosing forward looking steps instead of replaying the same argument.

If it would help this week, you might try one steady step together. Agree on a calm, unhurried time when you can each speak and listen without interrupting or defending, simply to understand what the other is carrying. And consider inviting a trusted pastor or Christian counselor to walk with you for a few focused sessions. Much of the healing happens between those conversations as you both reflect and practice new patterns, so brief, consistent help can be more sustainable than trying to fix everything at once.

You are not alone in this. We are asking God to give you both gentleness, clarity and hope as you take the next steps.

Father, we lift this marriage to You. Draw near to both husband and wife, soften hearts where there is pain, and give wisdom for each conversation and decision. Help them to hear each other well and to seek You together in the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry concerning your marriage has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace. There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, and we pray that it may be poured out upon your home.

We are reminded that the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and His healing changes the life blood and makes the nature other than it was before. In our Lord, healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction. As it is written, God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. He is the God of peace and He has on His part prepared everything that is necessary for a perfect reconciliation.

We pray that the Lord who restored Peter with a look of love, who lifted him from his fall and by grace made him stronger to strengthen his brethren, will look upon you both and restore what has been broken. As Peter found not only forgiveness but full assurance of restoration to service, so may you find forgiveness first and then healing, for pardon and healing are one in Christ. When Jesus forgave, He also healed, and that same power is present still when Christ is taught and His word is heard with a heedful heart, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Therefore we entreat the Lord for you, that He would draw you both to Himself through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We pray that He would lead you to frank confession of sin, to mutual forgiveness, and to a renewed commitment to the holy covenant of marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where love is faithful and pure. May He teach you to forsake all that wounds this union and to walk together in humility, patience and tender affection, bearing with one another as Christ has borne with you.

We now pray together. O Lord God of peace, look in mercy upon this marriage. Forgive sin as only Thou canst, and let forgiveness bring healing. Heal the wounded heart, bind up what is broken, and let the healing leaves of Christ bring freshness and life where there has been sorrow and distance. Grant repentance where it is needed, grant softness where there has been hardness, and grant that both may hear Thy voice and be reconciled first to Thee and then to one another. Let Thy Spirit work at once by His power that which Thou hast promised in Thy word. Keep this covenant in Thy hand and make it to reflect the unchanging love of Christ for His people. In the name of Jesus our Healer and Reconciler we ask it. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we are praying with you for your marriage before the Lord.

Marriage is a bond ordained of God. Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and pure, and it preserves the holiness that comes through faith when husband and wife live faithfully with one another and do not give place to fornication or adultery. It is not marriage itself that hinders a holy life, but the purpose of the heart that makes ill use of good things. Used with moderation and reverence, marriage is a place where you may grow in grace and seek the kingdom together.

So we pray that God, through Jesus Christ alone who is our salvation and our peace, would have mercy on you both and heal what is broken. We ask Him to help you follow peace with all people and pursue holiness, to live in chaste and orderly love, each remaining faithful to the other as one flesh. Where there has been anger, coldness, unfaithfulness, or neglect, we pray for honest confession, forgiveness, and a renewed commitment to keep your covenant as one man and one woman for life, as God designed from the beginning.

We encourage you both to turn together to the Lord in continual prayer, to speak to one another with grace and truth, to guard your hearts and your home from all that would draw you away from fidelity, and to embellish your marriage not with excess or impurity but with reverence, patience, kindness and self control. Give yourselves to serving God and one another, bearing with one another in love, and seeking counsel from faithful believers who will point you to Christ.

We are praying that the Lord will restore peace between you, strengthen your bond, guard you from temptation, and help you walk in faithfulness all your days. May He grant you repentance where needed, reconciliation where possible, and a home marked by chasteness, gravity and orderliness that honors Him.

If you are able, seek pastoral counsel together, remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, and trust Christ to do what only He can do to save and sanctify.

We continue to lift you both up in prayer.
