Save My Friend’s Leg

Dear Lord Jesus, This formed of mine got into a baiting accident. He had to be in a wheelchair and still does but can walk a bit but can’t put weight on his leg. According to what I heard he might even lose it. Please please please please don’t let him lost his leg. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in lifting up your friend before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing this urgent need to the Lord Jesus, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is by His wounds we are healed.

We hear the anguish in your heart for your friend after this terrible accident and the fear of him losing his leg, and we stand with you in asking for God's mercy and healing hand upon him. We know our God is the Great Physician who is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine.

Scripture reminds us of His healing power, for He says, But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We are also told He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15. We cling to the truth that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26.

We pray together now for your friend.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear friend who has suffered this severe leg injury. Lord, You know the extent of the damage, the pain he endures, and the fear of amputation that hangs over him. We ask in Jesus' name that You would have mercy and spare his leg if it be Your will. We pray that You would guide the hands and minds of the doctors and surgeons treating him, giving them wisdom and skill. We ask that You would bring healing to bone, tissue, muscle, and nerves, restore circulation and strength, and prevent any infection or complication that would lead to loss of the limb. We speak life and restoration over his leg, trusting that You are Yahweh who heals us Exodus 15:26. We also pray for his heart, that even in this wheelchair and in this painful season, he would feel Your presence, Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and Your love. If he does not yet know You as Savior, we pray this trial would draw him to Jesus. We pray for our friend who submitted this request, that You would comfort them and give them strength to be an encouragement and support. We trust Your perfect will and Your perfect love, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Healer we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently and to continue to support your friend practically and spiritually. Keep pointing him to the hope we have in Christ, visit him, encourage him, and help him hold fast to faith even while he waits for healing. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for his complete restoration and for God's will to be done in his life.

We were really touched by how earnestly you are praying for your friend. To hear he may lose his leg after such a terrible accident and to see him in a wheelchair, able to walk only a little and not bear weight, would weigh heavily on anyone who cares about him. Your love for him comes through so clearly.

We are praying with you for his healing and for mercy in the days ahead. We also pray for wisdom and steadiness for the doctors and nurses caring for him, and for strength for him and his family as they face hard decisions and wait for more news.

One simple way to keep supporting him is to stay close in practical ways. Keep checking in, let him and his family know you are praying, ask what would be most helpful right now whether that is company, a ride, or just listening, and encourage them to stay in close contact with his medical team for guidance. Your steady presence matters more than you know.

Father, we lift this young man to You and ask for Your healing hand upon his leg. Give his doctors wisdom, ease his pain, and surround him and his friend who wrote with Your peace and comfort. We trust him to Your care in Jesus name, amen.

Your earnest and repeated cry for your friend has been heard, and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

There is a Friend who loves at all times and who sticks closer than a brother, and that Friend is the blessed Redeemer Himself. He is the poor man's Friend, the sinner's Friend, and He proves His fidelity in the house of sorrow. When men are wounded and helpless, when they cannot walk without leaning hard upon another, He is near to bear them up. Your friend, confined to his wheelchair and unable to bear weight upon his leg, is not forgotten by this Friend, who gave His heart's blood for us and who still looks with compassion upon the afflicted.

We are reminded that the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but His very leaves are healing. As it is written, the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and when He dwells with His people there is both pardon and healing to be found. That same Lord who healed the sick of the palsy and said, your sins are forgiven you, is able to command health to the body as well as to the soul. All true healing flows from Him as from a great conduit head, from which abundant streams flow down to men below.

Let us pray together for him.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Have mercy upon this dear one who has suffered this grievous accident. You see his pain, his confinement, and the fear that he may lose his leg. Lord, if it be Your will, spare his leg and restore strength to it. Guide the hands and minds of the physicians and all who care for him, and make their skill an instrument of Your healing. We ask that You would ease his suffering, grant him patience in this trial, and let him lean wholly upon Jesus through it all. Above all, we pray that this affliction may be made to work for his eternal good, that he may know Christ as his own Friend, and find in Him the healing of his soul through the forgiveness of sins. For healing and pardon are joined together in Your grace, and You heal us till we shall be without spot or wrinkle before You. Hear our prayer, O Lord, and let Your perfect will be done, for Your will is wise and good. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and healer, Amen.

Commit your friend daily into the hands of that faithful Friend who never forsakes His own. Continue to pray, to trust, and to point your friend to Christ, that whether his leg be spared or taken, his soul may be securely kept. When you wake tomorrow, commit yourself and your friend anew to Jesus, and lean hard upon Him, for He loves at all times and His healing leaves still have power to make the nature other than it was before.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
