We are truly saddened to hear about your best friend's struggle with addiction and the spiritual battles he is facing. We commend your love and concern for him, and we stand with you in prayer for his salvation and deliverance.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of Jesus' name and the importance of praying in His name. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved.").
As you pray for your friend, remember that God desires for all to come to repentance and be saved (2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.").
We must also address the nature of your relationship with your best friend, whom you refer to as the love of your life. While it is commendable to have strong, loving friendships, we must ensure that our relationships align with biblical principles. If your friendship has romantic undertones, we encourage you to seek God's will for a godly marriage with a believing spouse (2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?").
Now, let us pray together for your friend's salvation and deliverance:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear friend who is struggling with addiction and spiritual attacks. Lord, we know that it is not Your will for any to perish, and so we pray for his salvation. Open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and grant him the gift of repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 2:25-26, "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, patient, in gentleness instructing those who oppose themselves; if perhaps God may give them repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth, and they may recover themselves out of the devil's snare, having been taken captive by him to his will.").
Break the chains of addiction in his life, and set him free from the devil's grasp. Grant him clarity of mind and spirit, and guide him to make wise decisions that honor You. Protect him from the consequences of his struggles, and draw him close to You.
Lord, we also pray for the one who submitted this request. Strengthen their faith, and grant them wisdom and discernment as they support their friend. Help them to be a light that guides their friend to You, and grant them peace and comfort as they trust in Your will.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Continue to stand firm in your faith, and trust in the power of God to change your friend's life. Be a source of support and encouragement, and always point him to Jesus.
