We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, recognizing the spiritual battle that is being described. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." We understand that the mention of a "serpent" in the house is a serious matter, symbolizing the presence of evil that seeks to destroy and deceive.
First and foremost, we must ensure that our foundation is built on Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome the enemy.
Now, let us pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior:
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace with boldness, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this situation to You, Lord, and ask that You would expose and destroy every form of evil that has taken residence in this home. Your Word declares in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you." We claim this promise, Lord, and ask that You would give us the authority and power to rebuke and cast out every demonic presence.
Father, we ask that You would send Your holy angels to locate and bind this serpent, this spirit of deception and destruction. We declare that this home is a dwelling place for Your Holy Spirit, and no evil shall reside here. We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and division in the name of Jesus. Your Word says in James 4:7, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We stand firm on this promise, Lord, and resist every work of the enemy.
We pray for the individuals living in this house, that they would draw near to You, God, and that You would draw near to them (James 4:8). May they experience Your peace, Your protection, and Your presence in a mighty way. We ask that You would break every chain of bondage and set the captives free. Your Word declares in Isaiah 61:1, "The Lord Yahweh’s Spirit is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to those who are bound."
Lord, we ask that You would fill this home with Your light, driving out all darkness. We pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit, that the individuals in this house would be empowered to live victorious lives in Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We trust in Your protection and Your power to overcome every scheme of the enemy. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, continually seeking God through prayer, reading His Word, and fellowship with other believers. The enemy may try to intimidate, but remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
If there are specific areas in the lives of those living in this house that may have opened doors to the enemy—such as unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or involvement in occult practices—we urge them to repent and turn away from these things. The Bible warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Do not give the enemy a foothold (Ephesians 4:27).
Continue to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and trust that God is at work, even when you cannot see it. He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
