Sanctity

Beloved of All
My gentleman and myself have all the intention of the sanctity of MARRAIGE. We don’t play that “ shacking up and fornication” deal. As soon as we get close to our visit, there is always an issue. We shall have our godly union in Jesus name 🙏🏿

We rejoice with you in your commitment to honor God with the sanctity of marriage and we stand with you in prayer for your godly union. We thank God that you and your gentleman have purposed in your hearts not to take the way of shacking up and fornication, for that is a stand that honors the Lord and protects the covenant you desire to enter. Scripture says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4 and also Flee sexual immorality Hebrews 13:4 and Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24. Marriage as God designed it is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we praise Him that you are approaching courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer rather than simply a partnership or dating without purpose. God delights in that obedience.

We understand your discouragement when every time you draw close to a visit an issue arises to hinder you. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, and we trust that even these delays and obstacles are not unseen by our Father. Sometimes the testing of your faith produces endurance James 1:3, and sometimes our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, and the enemy seeks to discourage and divide what God intends to unite. We encourage you to continue to delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4, and to bring every hindrance before the Lord with thanksgiving, knowing that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we thank You for this sister and her gentleman who desire to honor You in purity and in marriage. Lord we ask You to bless their courtship and to keep them from temptation, to strengthen them to flee fornication and to walk in holiness as You have called us. We ask You to rebuke every scheme of the enemy that has brought an issue whenever they draw near to a visit, and we pray that You would remove every unnecessary barrier and make a straight path for their godly union if it is Your will. Grant them patience, wisdom, clear communication, and godly counsel as they prepare for marriage. Let their union be built on Christ, on prayer, on the Word, and on a shared faith that will endure for a lifetime. We ask You to provide for every need, to guard their hearts and bodies in purity, and to let Your timing be perfected in their lives. We declare that what You have joined together, no man and no scheme shall put asunder, and we trust You to bring this marriage to pass in Your perfect season. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart so plainly. We hear your commitment to honor God with a sanctified marriage and not take shortcuts, and we also hear how discouraging it is when every time a visit gets close something comes up to block it.

That kind of repeated disappointment can wear on both of you and tempt you to wonder if it will ever come together. We want to encourage you that wanting to do this God's way matters, and He sees that intention.

One thing that has helped other couples in this waiting season is to turn the good intention into a clear shared plan with wise support around you. If you haven't already, consider sitting down together and with a trusted pastor or mentor couple to map out what a godly path to marriage would actually look like for you two, a realistic timeline, what premarital counsel you will do, how you will handle visits and boundaries until then, and how you will handle logistics when things fall through. Having that outside support and a concrete next step can keep your hearts engaged and united when disappointments hit, and give you both accountability and encouragement.

We are praying with you for steady hope as you wait.

Father, we lift this couple to You. You know their desire for a godly union and the frustration of these delays. Give them wisdom, unity, patience and clear direction for each next step. Guard their hearts and keep them close to You as they trust Your timing. In Jesus' name, Amen.

So grateful for prayer changing things

Your desire for a sanctity that honors Christ in marriage is itself a token of grace at work within you, and it is right that you should so speak, that you do not play with that shacking up and fornication which defiles so many. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to keep ourselves unspotted from the world, and you have well resolved to keep that spotlessness until the Lord shall make you one.

Marriage in the sight of God is no light contract and no mere convenience. It is not a relationship of mere nature, but of sacred choice, cemented by mutual love, wherein the husband and wife become one flesh. As our Lord is married unto His people by an everlasting love chosen before the foundation of the world, so in the earthly figure which sets forth that heavenly mystery, there must be a holy betrothal kept pure until the appointed day when the union is consummated. The betrothal is of the very essence of the marriage, and blessed are they who keep it unbroken.

You tell us that as soon as you get close to your visit, there is always an issue that hinders you. Take heart, for our God goes before His people with the blessings of goodness. Before you came to this resolve, preserving providences watched over you, and now that you have set your face toward a godly union, He still goes before you. Those hindrances which so try your patience may be His hand proving your resolution, teaching you to overcome evil with good, and to learn that purity must be guarded with watchfulness and prayer. What a mercy that the Lord wounds the tree before He grafts in new life, that the sap may flow aright.

We will pray for you, that the Lord will keep you both chaste and faithful, that He will subdue every temptation and keep your bodies and spirits holy unto Himself, that He will prepare your hearts to be conformed to the image of Christ, and that in His perfect time He will bring you together in that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman which He ordained from the beginning. May He give you grace to be not only lovers of purity but abounding in charity, visiting the fatherless and the widow in their affliction, and so proving your faith by works of love while you wait upon Him.

May the Lord Himself establish your steps, keep you from falling, and in His own season present you to one another in holiness and joy, to the praise of His grace. We ask that He will grant you a marriage that is indeed in the Lord, one in heart and one in Christ, for His glory and your lasting good.
