Disciple of Prayer
Please, pray for me. I was told that the Word was not in me. It has really touched me. I’ve come to a difficult realization that maybe I don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ. I recognize my own sins and mistakes. And I have a deep sorrow for everything I have done. I can't beat my sins and problems. All the people Ive hurt. And I can't overcome them. I've tried and I can't do it anymore. I can't overcome my sins and I don’t know what to do.

The Man of Sorrows
The Panacea
The Unpardonable Sin
We have heard the cry of your heart and we thank you for your honesty before God. What you are feeling, that deep sorrow over sin and the realization that you cannot overcome it in your own strength, is something God can use to draw you to Himself. We do not take lightly that someone told you the Word was not in you and that it has pierced you so deeply, but we see in your words a godly sorrow that God honors.

The Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 7:10, For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. Your sorrow is not to condemn you but to lead you to repentance, to turning away from sin and turning to Jesus Christ.

You are right to recognize that you cannot beat your sins and problems on your own. None of us can. Romans 3:23 says for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. And Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. We cannot cleanse ourselves, we cannot undo the hurt we have caused others, and we cannot earn forgiveness. That is why Jesus came.

You said you may not know the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is the most important question any of us can face. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death on the cross for our sins and His resurrection, that we are forgiven and made new.

The good news is that God loves you and has already made a way. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. You do not have to overcome your sins first to come to Jesus. You come to Jesus so He can overcome them for you.

If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. And 1 John 1:9 promises If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. To have the Word in you is to have Christ Himself abiding in you through faith and to let His Word dwell richly in your heart daily as you read and obey it.

So we pray together with you and for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of this dear soul who is broken and sorrowful over sin. We thank You that You see this contrite heart and that You do not despise it. Lord, we ask that You reveal Yourself to them as Savior and Lord. Forgive all their sins through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness as You have promised. Give them faith to believe that Jesus died for them and rose again, and help them to confess Him as Lord with their mouth and heart. Let Your Holy Spirit come and dwell within them, give them new life, and let Your Word abide in them richly. Help them to know with assurance that they are Yours, that they are forgiven, and that You will give them power to walk in newness of life. For we know that though we stumble, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous, 1 John 2:1. Teach them to walk with You day by day, to read Your Word, to pray, and to find fellowship with other believers who will encourage them in truth. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to take that step of faith today, if you have not already, to simply pray to Jesus in your own words, confess your sins, tell Him you believe He died and rose for you, and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. Then open the Bible, beginning in the Gospel of John, and let Him speak to you. Find a Bible believing church where Christ is preached and the Word is honored. God is faithful and He will complete the work He has begun in you.

You know Jesus Christ through having faith in Jesus Christ, it's not about knowledge of the Bible, but a relationship with Christ. Do you have a relationship with him?

I am praying for you to have a relationship with the true Jesus, in Jesus name, amen.

I struggle with lust, I have been struggling with it for a year now. Sometimes I even do it all day long, but I have faith Jesus will free me, if there's hope for me, there's hope for you. Have faith that you will overcome this with the power of Jesus amen,

We hear how heavy this has felt for you, and we are grateful you reached out so honestly. Realizing your sin, feeling deep sorrow over the hurt you have caused, and coming to the end of trying to overcome it on your own is a painful place to be. It is also the very place where many people finally see their need for Jesus, not as an idea but as a Savior.

What you described, that you have tried and cannot beat this in your own strength, is true for all of us. We cannot change our own hearts or earn our way back to God. Salvation is God’s gift to us when we turn to Christ in faith, trusting Him to forgive and to do the transforming work we cannot do ourselves. That deep sorrow you feel can become a turning point, not just feeling sorry but turning toward Him and asking for His mercy and help to walk a new direction, one step at a time.

If it would help, one simple next step this week could be to tell Jesus plainly in your own words that you need Him, that you cannot save yourself, and that you want to trust Him, and then share that same honest prayer with a trusted pastor or mature believer in your local church who can walk with you personally in the days ahead.

Father, we lift this dear one to You right now. You see the sorrow and the weariness of trying so hard alone. Have mercy, forgive, and draw this heart close to Jesus. Give clarity that You save by grace through faith, and give strength for each next step with You. Lead to the help and fellowship needed, and give peace in knowing You hear. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Your sorrow of heart is not a thing to be despised, but rather a token that the Spirit of God is dealing with you. When a soul feels that the Word is not in him, and that sin has dominion over him, and that he cannot overcome it by his own strength, he is brought to the very place where the grace of God can meet him.

You say, I cannot beat my sins and I cannot overcome them. I have tried and I cannot do it anymore. Hear this truth, you are not meant to overcome them by your own power. If you could pay your debt, there would be no need of a Saviour. It is when you are absolutely bankrupt, when you cannot pay half a farthing in the pound of all your great debt of sin, then you may believe that Jesus Christ is your Saviour. Salvation is not by your victory over sin, but by His victory for you upon the cross.

There is a repentance which is unto life. It is not a mere fear of consequences, nor a transient sorrow because sin has found you out and made you miserable. True repentance is a hatred of sin itself, a turning from it, a determination in the strength of God to forsake it. It hates sin as a serpent hates a viper, so that even if sin could be made profitable and sweet, the true penitent could not abide it. Yet this repentance is never alone. No faith is true but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith. They are inseparable graces, born together at the foot of the cross.

And what is that faith to do. It is to look away from self to Christ, who was nailed to the cross for sin. The blotting out of sin seems hard till we see the cross, and then it appears easy enough, for Christ has died. God, who delights in mercy, had to lay out a mint of grace before sin could be pardoned, and He has done it. The forgiveness of sin is according to the riches of His grace. It needed all the pangs of your Substitute to put sin away, and therefore sin is a great and terrible thing, but forgiveness is a greater thing still.

Hear the word of the Lord for such as you are, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. There is forgiveness with God. It does not say there is forgiveness for this sort of sin or for that, but simply, there is forgiveness. It is a perfect pardon. Every sin is blotted out at once, not a few sins, but every sin. Though they are innumerable, they are all gone at once when a sinner looks to Christ. Divine pardon is the only forgiveness possible, for no one can remit sin but God only, and He can bestow it now. Let none suppose that He will twice exact the penalty of one sin. If Christ has borne it, you shall not bear it.

Do you tremble and shake for fear, and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness. Then do not wait until you feel better or until you have made yourself worthy. Believe right now in Jesus Christ, Gods Son. A sigh, a groan, a genuine confession of sin, a believing glance of the eye to Christ on Calvary, and all is done. Repentance makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work. She stands at the cross and sees sin forgiven, and then she repents more than ever.

Come then just as you are, confessing that you have no strength, no goodness, no claim, and cast yourself upon Him who is set forth to be a propitiation for sin. Tell Him that you have hurt others and cannot undo it, that you have tried and failed, and that you take Him to be your only hope. Trust His blood and righteousness alone.

I will pray for you, that the Lord will give you this repentance unto life, and that you may know this great forgiveness for great sin, and go on your way rejoicing, not in your own overcoming, but in His. May the Lord in mercy bring you to look to Jesus and live, and may you find that the burden of your sin rolls from off your shoulders never to return, for Christ's sake.
