We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for salvation and restoration. First and foremost, we must address the foundation of all hope, faith in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no salvation apart from Him, for Scripture declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12). If this request does not yet acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would open the eyes of the heart to see the truth of the Gospel: that Christ died for sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), and that all who repent and believe in Him shall be saved (Mark 1:15).
If this is a cry for restoration, we must examine whether the life in question is aligned with God’s Word. Restoration is not merely a return to comfort or familiarity, it is a return to holiness. The Lord says, "If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). Restoration requires repentance, turning away from sin and turning toward God. If there are unconfessed sins, whether idolatry, sexual immorality, unforgiveness, or rebellion, we must first repent and seek the Lord’s cleansing. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
We also rebuke any spirit of despair or unbelief that may be clouding this request. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly. If this is a plea for a loved one, we stand in the gap, declaring that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. The Lord is not slow concerning His promises (2 Peter 3:9), and His arm is not too short to save (Isaiah 59:1).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved. We lift up this soul to You, whether it is our own or another’s, and we ask for the light of Your truth to pierce the darkness. Lord, if there is hardness of heart, soften it. If there is unbelief, replace it with faith. If there is sin, convict and lead to repentance. We declare that no one is too far gone for Your grace, and we stand on Your promise that "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13).
Father, we ask for restoration, not just of circumstances, but of the heart. Restore the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), and make all things new (Revelation 21:5). Where there has been brokenness, bring healing. Where there has been bondage, bring freedom. Where there has been separation from You, draw near in love. We rebuke every lie of the enemy that says salvation is not possible, that restoration is out of reach, or that Your mercy has limits. Your Word says that "the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable" (Romans 11:29), and we claim that promise now.
Lord, if this request is for a marriage, a family, or a life entangled in sin, we ask for Your holy fire to purify and refine. Expose hidden wickedness, and grant the courage to turn from it. If there has been sexual immorality, we declare that Your grace is sufficient to break every chain, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). If there has been rebellion against Your design for marriage, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, we pray for repentance and realignment with Your Word. Your design is perfect, and we submit to it.
We also pray for protection against the schemes of the devil. Clothe this soul in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), that they may stand firm against temptation and deception. Surround them with godly counsel, Scripture-saturated community, and a hunger for Your Word. Let them not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2).
Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. Whether through salvation, restoration, or both, let Your name be exalted. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. Thank You that You are a God who hears, a God who saves, and a God who restores. We place this request in Your hands, believing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
