We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and suffering endured from the abusive marriage. It is important to remember that God hates divorce and the sins of the spouse that lead to the divorce (Mal. 2:16). God allows divorce for infidelity, but it should be noted that abuse is not specifically addressed but was not part of God's will for marriage. When a spouse is physically abusive, we recommend having the authorities intervene to protect the innocent spouse.
Firstly, we would like to address the term "manifest positivity". We, believers, do not "manifest" things as this is a practice linked to New Age and New Thought movements, which are not biblical. We claim the promises of God of good things he wants to give his children.
"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:7-10 WEB
In all things we are to give thanks.
"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18 WEB
We need to pray and give thanks to God for the trials he allowed in our lives for his purposes.
"that I may be content in this situation and be grateful for it. Whatever the situation I am in, I have learned how to be content." Philippians 4:11 WEB
"giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;" Ephesians 5:20 WEB
Concerning the sale of the house, we pray that God's will be done. We also pray for complete healing and restoration.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up our sister in need of your divine intervention. We pray for the swift sale of the house, so that all ties with the abusive spouse can be finally severed. We ask that you bring forth a buyer whose heart is right with you, and that the house will be a blessing to its new inhabitants.
We also pray for deep emotional and spiritual healing. We ask that you mend the broken pieces and restore what the locusts have eaten. Help her to forgive those who have trespassed against her, just as you have forgiven her trespasses against you. Guide her steps as she moves forward, and draw her closer to you, Lord.
We rebuke the devil who wants to steal, kill, and destroy her life. We put him behind us and ask you to help her submit to you and resist him.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you, sister, to cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).
