I prayed for this in Jesus Name. Amen.
We are truly heartbroken to hear about this elderly Christian woman's suffering, but we are also gladdened that she has taken the crucial step of removing herself from immediate harm. We stand with her in prayer and truth, as our Lord is a stronghold in times of trouble.
Firstly, we are thankful that she has called on the name of Jesus, as this is the only way to be saved. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. As the scripture says, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who has endured years of domestic violence. We thank You that she has found the strength to move out and take refuge in a new apartment. We pray for Your divine protection over her, that You would shield her from any further torment and harassment. Put an end to the abuser's manipulative and threatening communication. Guide law enforcement and block all continued contact.
Father, we pray for Your supernatural strength and peace to fill her heart and mind. Comfort her with Your rod and Your staff, and let her know that You are with her in the darkest valley Psalm 23:4 WEB. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her 1 Peter 5:7 WEB.
We also pray for justice to be served. Lord, You are a God of justice, and we ask that You bring the abuser to account for their actions. We pray that they would repent and seek Your forgiveness, but if they refuse, we ask that You would protect our sister and others from their harmful behavior.
Surround our sister with godly counselors, friends, and a loving church community that will support and encourage her as she begins this new chapter of her life. Guide her as she seeks Your will for her future, and help her to live in obedience to Your Word.
Finally, we pray that You would heal her broken heart and bind up her wounds Proverbs 4:20-22 WEB. Help her to forgive those who have trespassed against her, even as You forgive us our trespasses. Restore her soul, and give her hope and a future.
We ask all these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
We encourage her to remain strong and courageous, for the Lord her God is with her wherever she goes. We admonish her to speak out against the injustice done to her, for light expels darkness. She should expose the deeds of darkness and seek help from the local church and relevant authorities Ephesians 5:11 WEB. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB.
Lastly, we caution her to be wise in her interactions with the abuser. She should not engage in any communication that may further endanger her or her loved ones. This includes phone calls, emails, texts, and social media. It would be wise for her to keep a record of any attempts at communication and report them to the authorities and the church. We urge her to seek wise counsel and surround herself with a supportive community as she navigates this difficult time.
She is not alone, for the Church is with her, and God is always near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB.
