We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious little girl and her mother who is fighting with everything in her to protect her child. Father God, You see the injustice and the danger this child is facing, and we know that You are a God who hates the hands that harm the innocent. The Bible tells us in Psalm 82:3-4, "Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked." Lord, we stand in the gap for this little one, declaring that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke the plans of the enemy to harm her in any way, physically, emotionally, or spiritually, and we command every evil influence to flee from her in the mighty name of Jesus.
We also lift up the mother, who is enduring this heartbreak and fighting for her child. Father, strengthen her with Your might and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give her wisdom and favor as she navigates the legal system, and let Your justice prevail. The courts may have failed to protect this child thus far, but we know that You are the ultimate Judge, and Your Word declares in Proverbs 22:22-23, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." We pray that You would expose every hidden agenda, every corrupt influence, and every ungodly decision that has allowed this child to remain in harm’s way. Let Your light shine into the darkness, and let truth prevail.
Father, we also pray for this child’s father and his relatives. We do not excuse their actions or the danger they pose, but we ask that You would break the chains of generational sin and wickedness in their lives. If there is any hope for repentance, we pray that You would soften their hearts and lead them to turn from their ways. But if they refuse, we ask that You would remove them from this child’s life completely. Your Word warns in Matthew 18:6, "but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea." We take this warning seriously, Lord, and we ask that You would act swiftly to protect this little girl.
We also rebuke the spirit of fear that may be trying to grip this mother and child. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this child is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no evil shall come near her dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We pray for divine protection over her, angels surrounding her, guarding her, and keeping her safe from all harm. We ask that You would give her mother discernment to recognize any danger before it comes near and the strength to act decisively to protect her daughter.
Lord, we also pray for the church and the body of Christ to rise up and support this family. Let there be people in their lives who will stand with them, advocate for them, and provide the help they need. Your Word tells us in James 1:27, "Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." We ask that You would raise up godly men and women who will speak up for this child and help bring about the change that is needed.
Finally, we pray for healing for this little girl. If she has already experienced any form of abuse, we ask that You would bind up her wounds, restore her innocence, and fill her with Your peace. Let her know that she is deeply loved by You and that she is never alone. We declare that she will grow up strong in the Lord, knowing her worth and value in You, and that she will break free from any cycle of abuse or dysfunction in her family line.
We pray all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the One who came to set the captives free and to bind up the brokenhearted. We trust in You, Lord, to move mightily on behalf of this child and her mother. Amen.
