We rejoice with you in the precious gift of life that the Lord has entrusted to you. The anticipation of welcoming a new baby into your family is a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and love. We stand with you in prayer, lifting up this sacred moment to our Heavenly Father, who knits each child together in the womb and ordains every day of their life before one of them comes to be (Psalm 139:13-16).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the miracle of this child. Lord, we ask that You would watch over this mother and baby with Your tender care. Guide the hands of the doctors, nurses, and all those who will assist in the delivery. Grant wisdom and skill to those who will care for them, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for a safe, normal, and healthy delivery, free from complications. May this child be born strong, whole, and filled with the breath of life that You alone provide.
Father, we also lift up the spiritual protection of this family. May this child be raised in the knowledge and love of You, growing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). We pray that this baby would one day come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, walking in the purpose You have ordained for their life. Surround this family with Your angels, shielding them from any harm or danger, and fill their home with Your presence.
Lord, we trust in Your perfect plan for this child and this family. Even in the moments of uncertainty or fear, we know that You are in control. Help them to lean not on their own understanding but to acknowledge You in all their ways, so that You may direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). May this delivery be a testimony to Your goodness and a reminder that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17).
We also want to gently remind you, dear sister, of the sacred responsibility you have been given. Children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3). As you prepare to welcome this baby, we encourage you to dedicate this child to the Lord, just as Hannah dedicated Samuel (1 Samuel 1:27-28). Raise this child in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), teaching them to love and serve God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
In all things, we give You the glory, for it is by Your grace and through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You in prayer. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through faith in Him that we can approach You with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
