We hear the deep pain in your heart, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting up your friend and this strained friendship. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity." It is clear that this friendship has brought you sorrow, and we pray for healing and restoration according to God’s will.

First, we must address the hurt you are experiencing. It is not God’s desire for you to be mistreated or made to feel less than the beloved child of God that you are. Jesus Himself said in John 15:12, "This is my commandment, that you love one another, even as I have loved you." If your friend is acting in ways that do not reflect love, kindness, or respect, we must pray for her heart to soften and for God to reveal any ungodly behavior in her actions. We also pray for your heart to be guarded against bitterness, as Hebrews 12:15 warns, "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it."

We rebuke any spirit of division, gossip, or emotional manipulation in this friendship. The Bible is clear in Proverbs 16:28, "A perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends." If your friend has been speaking ill of you or intentionally causing you pain, we ask the Lord to convict her heart and lead her to repentance. We also pray for wisdom for you, as Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." Guard your heart, but also be open to the possibility that God may be calling you to address these issues with love and truth.

Father God, we come before You now, lifting up this friendship to You. Lord, we ask that You would soften ###'s heart toward our sister in Christ. If there has been any misunderstanding, hurt, or sin on either side, reveal it, Lord, and bring healing. We pray that ### would see the value in this friendship and treat our sister with the love and respect she deserves. Help her to apologize if she has wronged our sister, and give our sister the courage to speak the truth in love if needed.

Lord, we also pray for our sister’s heart. If there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or pain, we ask that You would heal her and help her to release these burdens to You. Give her the strength to set healthy boundaries if necessary, and the wisdom to know how to navigate this friendship in a way that honors You. We pray that You would restore what has been broken and bring reconciliation, but only if it is Your will. If this friendship is not meant to continue, we ask that You would give our sister peace and lead her to friendships that build her up and reflect Your love.

We also lift up ###'s family to You, Lord. We pray that they would be open to receiving the gifts and cards our sister has prepared for them. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let them see the love and care behind these gestures. May Your love shine through even in small acts of kindness.

Finally, Lord, we pray for our sister’s emotional well-being. Comfort her in her moments of sadness and remind her of Your love for her. Help her to find her worth and identity in You, not in the approval of others. Surround her with godly friends who will encourage and uplift her, and give her the strength to forgive, even when it is hard.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear how much this friendship means to you, and the repeated rejection you're describing sounds deeply painful. When someone we care about excludes us, compliments others to hurt us, and leaves us questioning where we stand, it cuts to the heart. It is completely understandable that you are crying and feeling wounded.

Right now, the focus of your energy seems to be on changing your friend's behavior, hoping she will sit with you, include you, and stop hurting you. While we can absolutely pray for that, we want to gently encourage you to also pay attention to what you can control: your own heart and your own limits. It can be very loving to leave the door open for reconciliation, but it is not unloving to protect yourself while that door remains open. You mentioned that you are not ready for a meeting yet. That is actually wise if speaking up still feels too scary; it might be a sign that some internal boundaries need strengthening first so that you can approach any conversation from a place of stability rather than desperation for her approval.

It might help to write out what you would want to clarify with her someday, not as a letter to send right now, but as a way to untangle your thoughts. And while you wait and pray, you do not have to keep subjecting yourself unguarded to the same hurt. Sometimes stepping back a little to guard your heart is exactly what gives God room to work, both in her heart and in healing yours.

Lord Jesus, you see the tears and the longing in this heart. Wrap your arms around this hurting friend and bring a deep, steady comfort that does not depend on other people's choices. Grant wisdom to know when to wait, when to speak, and when to step back. We ask you to work in this broken friendship, but more than that, we ask you to solidify this person's sense of security and worth in you alone. In Jesus' name, amen.

Consider Him who endured the contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be weary and faint in your minds. The betrayal of a friend is a bitter cup, yet our Lord drank it to its dregs; and because He was betrayed, the great all-suffering High Priest became able to sympathize with us in every point. Your pain is not unknown to Him. But mark this: human friendships, like all earthly things, are often broken cisterns that hold no water. Your heart turns to this friend and finds wounding, for our hearts are out of repair, the whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint. We look to the creature for what the Creator alone can give.

First, I charge you, seek reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ. He “has committed unto us the word of reconciliation,” and God has prepared all things that are needed for this present and perpetual reconciliation. Lay hold of it, and you shall find a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother. As for this earthly friendship, you are without strength to repair the damage that sin hath wrought. Pray, yet let your first prayer be that you may be made right with God, and then that His will be done. It may be that this coldness is a chastening hand to wean you from overleaning upon mortals. Obedience is an essential of true friendship to Christ, for those who profess friendship yet will not do what He commands are but traitors in heart.

Do not rush to force a meeting for which you are not ready. Commune with the Lord in secret; pour out your complaint before Him. Ask that the Holy Spirit would work reconciliation if it be according to His mind. And if your friend will not turn, yet remember, Jesus proved His friendship by laying down His life for those He calls His friends. Set your affections on Him, and though all human bonds snap, you will never be alone. Cast this burden on the Lord. Speak to your friend only as grace and wisdom direct, but be not cast down if it tarries. Accept that word of reconciliation, and you are a saved soul the moment you trust Christ wholly with your heart. In Him alone is found the healer of every breach.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pour out your tears over a friend who wounds you, who sits with others, who praises them to cause you pain, and you ask God to mend this bond. I hear the ache in your words. But let us speak plainly, for love does not flatter. Why do you cling so tightly to the favor of one who makes you weep? You chase a friendship that feeds on your sorrow, and you beg God to restore what keeps breaking your heart. This is not the friendship of the Spirit I have spoken of, which is strong and hard to dissolve; it is the friendship of the table, which perishes quickly with the setting sun.

You ask her to be nice, to sit with you, to accept your gifts. But what is this but a bargain of human approval? If she repays your kindness, you have your reward now, and God owes you nothing. But if you suffer rejection and still seek peace, if you bear her slights without vengeance, God remembers. He will be your debtor. Do not waste your soul grasping for a love that must be forced. The true friend is not won by pleading or plotting; it is a gift from above, tested in fire. If you fear a meeting to clarify things, your own weakness cries out, but perhaps that fear is a mercy. It keeps you from building on sand.

Turn your eyes from what she does. You cannot command her heart or her apologies. Examine your own. Have you made an idol of her company? Then lay it down. Offer your sadness to God. Sit with the poor in spirit, with your own wounded heart, and invite Christ to your table. He will not mock you. He will not flatter you to hurt you later. If this friendship is shattered, perhaps God is prying your fingers from a broken cistern. Accept the pain as a teacher. Learn to love without needing to be loved in return, and you will find a freedom no one can steal. Let her go into God’s hands. Repair what you can within yourself, and entrust the rest to the One who sees every secret, behind every back, and repays with eternal mercy.

I hear the deep ache in your words, the longing for a friendship to be what it once was, and the sting of rejection and emotional hurt. Your tears are not hidden from God, and He cares about every pain you carry. But I want to gently ask you to consider something: could it be that your heart has been looking to this friendship to satisfy a thirst that only God can quench? People will always disappoint us if we look to them to fill the place in our soul that was made for Christ alone. Emotional experiences, even the best of human connections, can never provide the lasting peace and security that He offers when He says, "Come to me and drink."

There is also a hard truth to face when a relationship consistently brings you to tears and makes you feel less than treasured. The Scriptures warn us not to meddle to our own hurt. Why chase after a situation that keeps wounding you? It’s not that you are unloving, but sometimes we can be tempted to force a door open that God, in His mercy, is gently closing. You may feel you are fighting for something valuable, but every time you pursue a connection that repeatedly excludes and crushes your spirit, you risk losing a piece of your own peace, your joy, and even your sense of worth.

That doesn’t mean the pain is not real. Emotional wounds can dry up the bones, as Solomon observed. But faithful are the wounds of a friend, and sometimes the truest love allows distance for healing to begin. A surgeon must cut to remove what is harmful, and though it hurts deeply, that hurt is for the purpose of restoring health. The same is true in our relationships. You’ve said you are not ready for a meeting, and perhaps that hesitation itself is wisdom. Take time to let the Lord search your own heart. Ask Him to show you what repair should look like, not merely returning to how things were, but becoming something stronger in Him first.

Remember, your sin and your sorrows matter to God. He is not waiting to hurt you; He is the one who longs to shield you from deeper pain. His heart is not against you. What hurts Him is seeing you stay on a path of self-destruction, clinging to a friendship that may be doing more harm than good right now. Your real friend sticks closer than a brother, and that friend is Jesus. Before you can repair anything with another person, let Him repair the broken places in your own spirit. Let Him fill the thirst you’ve been trying to quench through someone else’s approval. As you rest in His love, you’ll find the clarity and strength you need, whether that leads to a healed friendship in His timing or to the peaceful release of a burden He never meant for you to carry.
