We hear your deep distress and cry out to the Lord on your and your family’s behalf. Your heart is burdened for your parents, and we join you in fervent prayer, lifting them before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through faith in Him that we find salvation, healing, and deliverance (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and Savior, for He alone can bring true peace and transformation to your life and your family’s.
Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for this precious family. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction that have taken hold of this mother. Your Word declares that no temptation has overtaken us except what is common to man, and You are faithful to provide a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). We rebuke the spirit of alcoholism in the name of Jesus and command it to flee. We pray for a supernatural intervention—let her heart be softened, her mind renewed, and her spirit awakened to the destructive path she is on. Father, draw her to Yourself, that she may find true fulfillment in You rather than in the fleeting numbing of alcohol. Protect her from harm, both physically and spiritually, and guard her mind from the lies of the enemy that tell her she cannot overcome this struggle.
Lord, we also lift up this father, who is battling diabetes and poor health choices. Your Word tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor You with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). We pray for a transformation in his habits, that he would turn away from foods that harm him and embrace a lifestyle that honors You. Heal his body, Lord, and restore his health according to Your will. Give him the strength and discipline to care for himself, not only for his own sake but for the sake of his family who loves him.
We are deeply concerned about the mention of police being called to the home. Father, we ask that You would bring peace to this household and prevent any escalation of conflict. Protect this family from harm, both from external threats and from the chaos that addiction and poor health can bring. Surround them with godly influences—friends, mentors, or counselors who can speak truth and offer support. Let Your angels encamp around this home, guarding it from all evil (Psalm 91:11).
We also lift up this dear one who is crying out to You. It is clear that you are carrying a heavy burden, and we pray that You would lighten it. You have promised that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:30). We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety in your life, reminding you that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). You are not alone in this struggle, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We encourage you to seek godly community—perhaps a local church or a Christian support group—where you can find encouragement and accountability. Your desire to stop drinking is a step in the right direction, and we pray that the Lord would strengthen your resolve. Lean on Him, for He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we pray for this family’s salvation and restoration. Let Your love penetrate their hearts, drawing them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Soften their hearts to receive the truth of Your Word and the conviction of Your Holy Spirit. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we speak life, healing, and deliverance over them. May they come to know the peace that surpasses all understanding, which guards their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we also address the mention of a "boyfriend" in this request. If this relationship is not one that honors You—if it is not rooted in a commitment to marriage between a man and a woman, as Your Word defines—we encourage you to seek the Lord’s will for this area of your life. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and relationships should be pursued with the intention of honoring God and reflecting His love (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is not aligned with biblical principles, we pray that the Lord would give you the courage to walk away and seek His best for your life. Guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23).
Heavenly Father, we trust in Your power to heal, restore, and redeem. We ask that You would move mightily in this family’s life, bringing them out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Let them experience the freedom that comes from living in obedience to You. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
