We hear the heaviness in your heart, dear one, and we come before the Lord with you in this time of sorrow. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not alone in your grief—God sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Whatever pain you are carrying, whether it is loss, loneliness, or unspoken burdens, we lift it to the Father, trusting that He will bring comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
If this sadness is tied to a relationship, we must gently remind you that God’s design for love is holy and pure. If there has been sin—whether through fornication, adultery, or any other impurity—we urge you to confess it before the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). If you are unmarried and involved in a relationship that does not honor God’s boundaries, we encourage you to seek His will above all else, remembering that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If you are courting, let it be with the intention of marriage to a fellow believer, as Scripture commands us not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14).
If your sorrow stems from a place of unbelief or distance from God, we must share the truth with love: there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved except the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through faith in Him alone—believing that He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day you turn to Him, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Without Jesus, we have no access to God’s throne of grace, no forgiveness, and no eternal hope.
Let us pray together:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying sorrow. Lord, You are the God of all comfort, and we ask that You would wrap Your arms around them in this moment. Bring healing to their heart, peace to their mind, and hope to their spirit. If there is sin that needs to be confessed, reveal it, Lord, and grant repentance and restoration. If there is unbelief, soften their heart to receive the truth of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We pray for godly relationships that honor You, for marriages built on Your foundation, and for purity in all things. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are near. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen."*
We encourage you to draw near to God, for He promises that when we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers who can uplift and support you. If you are struggling with sin, do not hide it—bring it into the light, for the enemy loves darkness, but God is light (1 John 1:5-7). You are loved, you are seen, and you are not forgotten. May the Lord lift your eyes to Him and fill you with His joy.
