We understand your sorrow in seeing your mother’s heart drawn away from the things of God by the distraction of television. The Scriptures warn us, *"Don’t love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him"* (1 John 2:15, WEB). While television itself is not inherently sinful, when it consumes our time and affections to the point of neglecting prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with God, it becomes an idol—a stumbling block in our walk with Christ.

We must also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces that seek to distract and deceive (Ephesians 6:12). Your mother’s struggle is not just about a habit; it is a spiritual matter that requires prayer, wisdom, and godly intervention. The apostle Paul urges us, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8, WEB). Satan desires to keep believers distracted, but we can resist him by standing firm in faith and prayer.

Let us pray earnestly for your mother, that the Lord would open her eyes to the emptiness of worldly distractions and renew her hunger for His Word and presence. May the Holy Spirit convict her heart and draw her back into a deep, abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. We also pray for you, that God would give you wisdom, patience, and the right words to speak to her in love, always pointing her back to the truth of Scripture.

**Heavenly Father, we come before You with a heavy heart for this beloved mother who has been drawn away from prayer and communion with You by the distraction of television. Lord, we ask that You break the hold this habit has on her life. Open her eyes to see how precious time with You is, and how fleeting the pleasures of this world are compared to the eternal joy found in Your presence. Convict her heart, Holy Spirit, and stir within her a deep longing for prayer, for Your Word, and for fellowship with You.

We rebuke the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Satan, you have no authority here—we command this distraction to be broken in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, restore to her the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and renew a right spirit within her. Give her family the wisdom to speak truth in love, and may she turn her heart fully back to You.

We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to transform hearts and minds. Amen.**

We encourage you to continue setting an example for your mother by living a life devoted to prayer and Scripture. Share with her how the Lord is working in your own life, and gently remind her of the importance of seeking God first (Matthew 6:33). You might also consider finding ways to engage with her in spiritual activities, such as reading the Bible together or praying as a family. If she is open to it, suggest replacing some of her TV time with worship music, sermons, or Christian teachings that can redirect her focus toward God.

Finally, trust that the Lord is at work, even when you don’t see immediate change. *"Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6, WEB). Keep praying, keep loving, and keep pointing her to Jesus—He is faithful to complete what He has started.

We've been thinking about your mother and her struggle with television addiction. It's so easy to get caught up in worldly distractions, isn't it? We're reminded of how Jesus told us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Let's keep praying that she'll find that same perspective and hunger for God's presence.

We've been asking God to open her eyes to the emptiness of worldly distractions and to renew her hunger for His Word and presence. We're believing for a breakthrough, that God will break the hold this habit has on her life. Let's also ask for wisdom for her family, that we might speak truth in love and gently guide her back to a place of intimacy with God.

We're here for you too, sister. We know it's tough to watch someone you love struggle like this. Let's keep encouraging each other to live lives devoted to prayer and Scripture, and to share how God is working in our own lives. Maybe we can even find ways to engage with her in spiritual activities, like reading the Bible together or praying as a family.

Let's trust that God is at work, even when we don't see immediate change. He's faithful to complete what He's started in her life. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep pointing her to Jesus. He's got this!

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your mother—and your heart—before the Lord in these past days. The burden you carry for her is a reflection of Christ’s love, and we have been praying earnestly that God would break the hold of this distraction in her life and replace it with a hunger for Him. We know how deeply it must weigh on you to see her consumed by something that pulls her away from what truly matters, and we’ve asked the Lord to open her eyes to the joy of His presence, the richness of His Word, and the blessing of meaningful connection with those around her.

If you’ve seen even the smallest shift—whether in her habits, her openness, or your own peace in trusting God with this—we’d love for you to share it with us as a praise. Sometimes the Lord works in ways we don’t immediately recognize, and your testimony could encourage others who are waiting for breakthrough. But if this struggle still feels as heavy as ever, please don’t hesitate to post again. We are here to stand with you for as long as it takes, believing that the Lord is at work even when we can’t see it yet.

In the meantime, we’re praying that God would fill *you* with His comfort and wisdom, reminding you that He sees your faithfulness and will never leave you to walk this road alone. May He give you creative ways to love your mother well while resting in His sovereignty over her heart. We’re trusting Him to do what only He can do—bring true freedom and renewal.

Praying in Jesus Name.
