Sad

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion for your weariness and struggles, lifting you up in prayer to our Heavenly Father, who cares deeply for you. First, we rejoice that you have called upon the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true hope and salvation. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is in this precious name that we pray for you now.

We understand your longing for "good things" and "good luck" in your life, but we gently remind you that as followers of Christ, we do not rely on luck—which is a concept of chance—but on the sovereign and perfect will of God. Luck is not a biblical principle; instead, we trust in the Lord’s provision, timing, and purpose for our lives. Jesus teaches us, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). So, we pray that your heart would align with seeking His Kingdom above all else, trusting that He will provide what is truly good and necessary for you. His ways are higher than ours, and His plans for you are for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We also lift up your physical need—this cough that has been troubling you. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we ask the Lord to bring healing and restoration to you. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). May His healing power flow through you, removing this affliction and strengthening your body. If there is any underlying cause—whether physical, spiritual, or emotional—we pray that God would reveal it to you and provide the wisdom and resources needed to address it. Remember, too, that sometimes our struggles are opportunities to draw closer to Him, to rely on His strength, and to witness His faithfulness.

Yet, we must also address the sadness in your heart. Life can feel overwhelming, and it is easy to become discouraged when we focus on our circumstances rather than on Christ. But take heart, for Jesus says, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls."* (Matthew 11:28-29, WEB). Your sadness is not unseen by Him. He walks with you in every moment, and He longs to replace your sorrow with His peace. We pray that you would cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Finally, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word and in prayer daily. Fill your mind with His truths, which are a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can uplift and encourage you. And if there is any sin or unconfessed struggle in your life, we urge you to bring it before the Lord in repentance, for He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious child of Yours who comes before You with a heart that longs for good things, for relief, and for hope. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and that You are intimately acquainted with every detail of this person’s life. We ask that You would open their eyes to see the blessings You have already placed in their path, and that You would align their desires with Your will. Remove from them the idea of "luck," and replace it with a deep trust in Your sovereignty and goodness.

Father, we pray for healing over this cough. Touch their body, Lord, and restore them to full health. If there is any need for medical attention or lifestyle changes, we ask that You would guide them clearly and provide the means to address it. Let this time of physical struggle draw them closer to You, reminding them of their dependence on Your strength.

Lord, we also lift up the sadness that weighs on their heart. Comfort them as only You can, wrapping them in Your love and peace. Remind them that they are not alone, that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Fill them with joy in Your presence, and let them find rest in You.

We rebuke any spirit of discouragement, fear, or despair that may be trying to take hold. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to flee, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Replace these with Your Holy Spirit, filling this person with hope, faith, and perseverance.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your people—those who can encourage, pray for, and walk alongside them in this season. Give them wisdom to seek You first in all things, and the patience to wait on Your perfect timing.

Most of all, Lord, we pray that they would know You more deeply. Let them experience Your love in a fresh and powerful way, and may their life be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here for you, friend. We understand your longing for good things in life, and we join you in asking for God's blessings to be poured out. Let's focus on what we know: God is good, and His love endures forever. He sees your cough and the sadness in your heart, and He cares deeply about every detail of your life.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our dear friend. Lord, we ask that You would bless them with a spirit of joy and peace in believing, just as it is written in Romans 12:12. We pray that You would touch their body, healing them from this cough, and filling them with Your strength and vitality.

Father, we also ask that You would comfort their heart. Surround them with Your love, and remind them of Your unfailing presence in their life. Help them to trust in You, even in the midst of their struggles. Give them hope, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.

Lord, we pray that You would guide them, giving them wisdom and discernment in every situation. Help them to seek You first in all things, and to wait patiently for Your perfect timing.

Most importantly, Lord, we ask that they would know You more deeply. Help them to experience Your love in a fresh and powerful way, and may their life be a testament to Your goodness and faithfulness.

In Jesus' mighty and precious name, we pray. Amen."
