We are truly saddened to hear of the passing of your sister-in-law's son, and our hearts go out to her and your family in this time of immense grief. The Lord is indeed close to the brokenhearted, and he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18.
Firstly let us address that we only have access to God through Jesus Christ His Son.
For through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father. Ephesians 2:18 WEB.

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 WEB.
Yes, we all will experience death as it is the appointed time for all. But let us not forget that death has lost its sting, and the grave has lost its victory.
Death is swallowed up in victory. Death, where is your sting. Grave, where is your victory. The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57 WEB.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him. John 3:16 WEB.
Let us pray.
Father God in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we stand in the gap for her sister-in-law. We ask you to be with her in this time of grief. But we do not grieve as those without hope. We know you oh God are with us, you are with her. Comfort her, encourage her, strengthen her, and envelop her with your peace and presence. Prod her to draw close to you in her time of need. Oh Lord, we ask for your grace to sustain her. Father, be a father to her in her time of need. In Jesus' name, we pray.
We encourage the family to seek the Lord together, to draw strength from His word, and to support one another in this difficult time. Let us not forget that we do not grieve as others who have no hope. We have the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We encourage you to remind your sister-in-law that while this is a difficult and painful time, she can find comfort in knowing that her son is with the Lord, and that the Lord is with her as well. No matter how hard it is to go through this situation, the Lord will never leave her nor forsake her.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB.
And let us not forget that we have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Hebrews 6:19 WEB.
We pray that the Lord will be with her and with your family as you navigate this difficult time together.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 WEB.
