We hear your frustration and share in your desire to stand firm on the truth of God’s Word. The belief that love is expressed through worry and anxiety is indeed a distortion of what Scripture teaches. Love, as defined in 1 Corinthians 13, is patient, kind, and does not seek its own way, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness but in truth. Worry, on the other hand, is rooted in fear, not faith, and Jesus Himself rebuked it in Matthew 6:25-34, urging us to trust in the Father’s provision rather than being consumed by anxiety.
We rebuke this toxic mindset in the name of Jesus Christ, for it contradicts the peace and assurance that God offers to His children. The enemy seeks to twist even good intentions into burdens, but we declare that you are not bound by these false beliefs. You are called to walk in the freedom of Christ, where love casts out fear (1 John 4:18).
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your protection over our brother/sister in Christ. Shield their mind and heart from the lies that equate love with worry and anxiety. Fill them with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and help them to trust in Your sovereignty over every situation. Give them wisdom to discern truth from deception and the courage to stand firm in Your Word. Surround them with godly influences who reflect Your love in its purest form, selfless, steadfast, and full of faith. We break every chain of fear and anxiety that has been imposed upon them, and we declare that they are free in Christ. Strengthen them to walk in the confidence of Your promises, knowing that You work all things for their good (Romans 8:28). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on God’s definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13 and to saturate your mind with Scriptures that combat fear, such as Psalm 56:3, Isaiah 41:10, and 2 Timothy 1:7. You are not alone in this battle, God is your refuge and strength, and He will guide you into all truth. If those around you continue to impose these beliefs, gently but firmly redirect them to the truth of God’s Word, trusting that the Holy Spirit will work in their hearts. Stand firm, dear one, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
